There is no way the NHL would have let that go through....the whole deal would have been nixed. And I'm sure Darcy spends every waking hour devising devious plans on how to win a Stanley Cup..........there's a better chance he clips recipes and brings them in for Kim Pegula than actually think about progressive ways to be a winner.

I didn't post this at the time, but in an ironic twist, I actually went to Knox Farm during the Sunday afternoon Pens game. It was a surreal feeling.....we were the only ones there in a mini-blizzard. It felt like going into a church during nuclear war. Lindy hadn't been fired yet, and to me it was quite peaceful as a Sabres fan being there....reading up on all the family history. Much like being at church, I apologized for a world gone wrong. I sincerely felt bad for how screwed up this franchise has been the past decade. But the overwhelming gratitude and quiet I felt being there strengthened my resolve as a Sabres fan. Even if that only means remembering the better times. Also like the spiritual realm, you can only preach so much and try to lead towards good, but it is important that your heart is pure in matters as it is almost impossible to make someone see what they do not want to believe. Being there that day was 100x more rewarding than watching the game. Maybe the boys heard my prayer as Lindy got the boot 1 game later.

And on the Hodgson goal....the 15 seconds leading up to it, there were 2 or 3 pure anticipatory passes into open space off of pure instinct, that never would have happened under Lindy because Vanek would have been worried about giving up possesion and getting glued to the bench. I haven't seen a goal like that here in forever. Just F'n play the game. You can be smart and instinctive at the same time.....

How else do explain surviving Knox to Rigas to NHL to Golisano to Pegula to ?????, while having your only success being inheiriting a team from the GM of the year and coach of the year with the greatest goaltender in the world...and then lucking into massive overhaul of rules changes to suit your pansy of a team....surrounded by 12 other years of crap?

Fun thread.....I just remember a chain called the Brown Derby. It was a tinge classier than the Ground Round and they had a great burger. Love the passion though. Kaleta has slowly grown on me the past few years. He used to be a weasel as well, but he has stepped up and faced the music many times in fights, and the kid wants to win. It stinks his body can't hold up, but I applaud the effort. I've goofed on him a lot, but he's ok in my book.

Wow! Harsh......or maybe you could look at it that in a small school, Jesuit setting, he was able to maintain focus, improve in all aspects of life, and give himself the grounding needed to succeed on the big stage. Oh....and I'm sure he grabbed a little clothed boob at the Steer as well.....
