This took years to happen. It has been such a culture of groupthink....and sadly the Pegula/Black method embraces that culture even more....they have said it many times. Ruff was part of the problem, Darcy is part of the problem, soft players who have had SabreSchool...or whatever the heck that thing is, indoctrinated into them are part of the problem. I said it when Pegula got here....Puppy Mill. I was pleased to see Ott, Regehr, Gerbe, Weber, Kaleta seem to love getting let off the Lindy Leash, but there are still too many big money players in important positions that have been here far too long and know only 1 way to do things......The Sabre Way. This is turning into the disaster I feared worst. Everyone ignored the problems the past few years....expectations were sky high, performance is pitifull, now we have fans going bonkers and the media ready to jump down Pegula's throat. Does Pegula even go to any games anymore or has he gone Tommy G on us? At least letting Lindy go is a sign we "might" really blow this up at some point....but I hate to see where the fanbase is today. There was absolutely no reason for it to get this bad. This isn't the worst Sabres team in history.....but it is the most poisoned team in Sabres history....

:) It's really hard to hate anybody when your own have been so lackluster for so long. Look what has happened to the Bills/Dolphins rivalry. I remember wanting to jump down into the tunnel after Brian Cox spit at the crowd. Now the game has gone over a decade of being pretty much meaningless....and nobody from the generation where it mattered to hand down the hate. In hockey, teams I would love to hate actually make me feel ashamed. Boston...Philly....I would swap rosters with them in a second. toronto has fallen into Bills/Dolphins territory almost. If it wasn't for the Canadian Raid factor at the arena, we would probably Chet&Muffy those games too. Somebody.....give me something! Who can we possibly hate on as a group other than Bio's boyfriend?

1:15 starts the fun. 1:40 you hear Lindy's stick hit Adam in the visor as Lindy flails his stick at him without looking And Kassian firmly being told not to drive through your opponent and keep 2 hands on the stick at all times because....."If there is one thing we are going to do as a team...it is not taking penalties!" according to Ruff. I'm done here, but if this isn't Lindy in a nutshell?......

It was absolutely demeaning. He was mad at Kassian for "screwing up", just had Adam doing pushups for "screwing up", then proceeded to verbally nail Adam for all of his screwups in the past as he whacked him on the shin, the head, then continued to blindly flail his stick in the direction of Adam's head. If the player was Drury....and Drury just made an amazing play in practice...and Lindy said..."way to go Chris"...and popped him on the helmet.....then in context that is meaningless. Here's an example......say we have a Sabrespace meetup, and I meet someone here for the first time who has verbally spared with me in the past, yet we seem to be on friendly terms. I shake that person's hand when smiling, and say "good to see you buddy!" and then give a nice whack on the shoulder with my other arm. Then I say, "I know you have made some really crappy statements over the years, but it's really good to see you!"...and then I whack them on the back with a "brotherly tap". And then I say to another poster, "Hey, isn't it good to see this dude?", and give another few whacks to the back of the same person. How would that be taken in context? How would you expect the other person to react? And to top it off, Lindy is in a controlling position of power....which makes it even crappier. There is risk to confronting him if you are Adam.

Again....if he tried that with me, I would have yanked the stick out of his hand and chucked it. It's amazing how much flack I got for disecting that video of Lindy with the #1 and #2 prospects in the organization....both of whom were never to be seen again a few months later. But he wouldn't have tried it with me....because Lindy knows who he can control and intimidate. Which is why he is no longer the coach.....you can only squeeze so much life out of the same pool of people before they either retaliate, or give up. Be it a household, a country, or a team.

Interesting.....I would say I am a 50/50 split between Regehr and Ott. Regehr in the sense that I am more worried about defense and making sure there are no threats to those around me. I will observe and be sound in positioning when dealing with strangers, but have no hesitation to step into someone when needed. I can remove my emotions and think when I am dealing with something I am not very close to, then learn and reflect from it. If I know you and care?....Ott for sure. I am going to jerk your chain....and push your buttons. If I'm not sarcastic with you or pushing the envelope, then I probably don't care deep down. I will respect my teammates and stay out of their space, but if something needs to be said that nobody else will, I will say it without hesitation. Those who are in denial may not be able to swim with me on that, but those who open up end up bonding much further and know I will go through the zamboni door for them to make sure they are ok. I go off instinct and psychology, but feel I have a sound understanding of the fundamentals of life that allow me to do so without thinking. I DON'T have a smoking hot wife however......
