Rolston has done better by far. 13 points in 13 games versus 13 points in 17 games for Lindy. Still a 30% increase in output. Not sure where you were headed with that.....but it's like the Sabres have gone from Olive Garden to Chef's. I at least think Chef's is decent even if overrated.

Dudley has been good and I know he is a popular name. Better than Darcy for sure. I just feel Schoenfeld is legit in that he wears multiple hats for an organization I really respect. They have old school guys top to bottom in management and try to play a gutsy game. He would have made sense in that he could come here before the deadline and coached and GM'd until summer. We have just wasted another season. If moves are made.....I fear Pegula has pressured Darcy to bring in some household names in trades, and Ted Black is "keeping an eye on things".....and we will be left with another jumble. In all honesty, Pegula should just go all Ted Turner and coach a few games himself. What's the worst that can happen?

McKenzie is to Black/Pegula what Wawrow was to Quinn.......... I lost a lot of respect for him these past few years with the fluff he sends out about the Sabres.

I think Lindy didn't so much have a temper.....but was more like Mommy Dearest. Just so much making sure he had control over people that he never allowed true growth from his players. Like I have said before, every single talented guy here with some jam and leadership left under questionable terms. Peca, Gilmour, Drury, etc...... Torts is a softie. He puts on a show, and there is method to his madness.......but I think he is coming from a more truthful place in his coaching than Ruff. I think Ruff is projecting his own insecurities on his players. Torts is trying to "tweak" guys, and he appreciates real leaders. It doesn't always work and you can lose guys, but he is like the Secretary of Defense with classified information. Ruff reminded me of a guy stuck teaching at Houghton who felt he should be at Harvard.

We are running out of time, but when Lindy got canned I suggested Schoenfeld and Ken Gernander for GM/Coach...... We can even let Gernander finish off in Hartford this year, but Schoney is a hybrid GM/Coach.....pretty much a mini-Muckler. I love what NY has done, even though they have been a disappointment so far this year. I would double down on what those guys do any day. Schoney could have been behind the bench the past month+ evaluating who has what it takes to stay and who should go. He could have controlled the deadline, then at the end of the year, Gernanader who is the perfect mix of bulldog and teacher, could come in. I would have loved this.....although NYR may not like the raid. And you are correct.....no way a guy like Schoenfeld comes in and listens to a guy like Darcy. This is where Bucky Gleason is 100% believable. Probably 30% of the league would laugh at the thought.

That's what I think you are looking at. Miller, Pominville and Regehr are the 3 most likely to go. Their D is pretty rotational. Even Lydman has been healthy scratched in a rotation....but Regehr is the type of nasty you love in the playoffs. Miller supposedly would like to be out west, and Pominville is responsible 2 ways. Lecavalier.....maybe you nail them with one of our bad contracts. Stafford, Ennis, Dman? I don't know. Or maybe it is an alternate landing spot for Miller. I could also be on drugs.

3) No They were reeling and Getzlaf was doing horrible at the time. Most people here were saying no way they would give up Myers straight up. Point being....you go after the big moves when guys are down and willing to listen. I'm just rolling with my hunch on those 2 names. If a deal happens, I will expand on my thought process. Can you do me a favor and find out what Ryan Miller's playing weight is in October.......then what it is in April....May...or June in the rare instances he has made it that far. There are plenty of people here who understand numbers but find little time to listen....because all the numbers in the world don't make a difference when there is a tragic flaw involved. Who cares how much torque or how many liters and horsepower in an engine.....if the transmission itself is shot and the car can't move? This team has been poisioned by 16 years of groupthink. Those of us who saw this debacle coming were offering up detailed plans on how to prevent this, and actually have a decent team that could be respected. I don't post novels anymore....because IT'S OVER!! It's been over.......the time to limit the damage was years ago. Darcy Regier loves numbers.....he has no idea what goes into the making of synergy that produces those numbers however. Do you want to devise a beta for the group of players Darcy has put together. When you go all in on skilled pussycats.....the pussycatasticness of the whole is actually worse than the sum of the parts.
