  1. Point for Chz Thank you for putting your ass on the line so I can bitch about our hockey team. Seriously. And I would never claim to have a classic rod. I have an extended cab, but the alignment pulls to the left, my tires are bald, and my radiator leaks after 3 minutes..... Thanks for keeping me sane.....
  2. No need to claim.....it's a fact. "Advanced stats" are like sports blogs......there are a few gems here and there, but a whole lot of people trying to look important with the actual usefullness of the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders at the Tony Awards.....
  3. Some advanced stat guy had Stafford just outside his top 10 for the Hart...........
  4. My family loves my investing so it's not an issue. I let one of the slimiest venture capital firms buy into my company, quadruple it's value in 9 short months, sold out, and just happened to skip town with my best friend and Chief Development Officer a few months before one of the biggest ongoing abuse cases in history went public....... Maybe I'm just "lucky". How's that? Did I "read good"?
  5. No....as to you reference about losing money and blaming your wife.... 99% of the fanbase knows Regier is a clown and wants him gone. Your precious owner wants to judge him not on his past, but what he has done since working for Pegula. Well.....the Sabres suck even worse while adding twice the scouts, tons of upfront and bonus money, burrying guys in Rochester and overseas......yet the guy extends him for 5 years during year 3 when we were told a Cup would be on it's way. Now we are told to suffer. I'm not calling Pegula a scumbag for planning to steal money from Sabres fans.....I'm calling him a dolt for not taking Regier's history into account, having Darcy fail him in his first 3 years....yet he goes back to the same well. It's hard to get excited about an owner who goes to bat for and keeps trusting someone who is obviously faulty.
  6. I think you're missing it.
  7. Hi, I'm Bernie Madoff......tell your wife to give me your money to invest. I know 99% of the people hate my guts and know I am going to rape you of your life savings.....but trust me......let's start from scratch and only judge me for the moves I make for you from here on out. Thanks for hiring me Mrs.JerryJabber.......I know the market is up and I have lost you another 40% since you handed over all your money to me.....but trust me! And by the way...for the long term good, you will have to suffer the next few years. You didn't want to retire anyway now did you?
  8. Uncle Vito says Boston....I tried to warn him about the Canuckian pent up energy.......but Uncle Vito is usually correct..... I remember Denny Vial aiming for Muckler at the end of a Sens game.....
  9. Classic...... http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2013/05/06/18089279-air-forces-sex-abuse-prevention-honcho-charged-with-sexual-battery?lite
  10. Too bad he turned down Iginla for Peca...... Hasek, Peca, Gilmour, Drury, Dumont, Briere.........all leave town in a huff.......and in return we get Connolly, Pyatt, and Kozlov for a few months. Wonder why nobody wants to come to Hockey Heaven and you missed the playoffs 7 out of 11 years?
  11. If you put every response from this thread into a blender......you get this....... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-i9FvfgXM9E
  12. No....I was directly replying to the trade proposal saying we can get a lot more. If we really can, then why not get 5 or 6 quality players for those 3, and then trade away picks for other solid roster players? Mind you Darcy would never do this and has no clue what type of 2nd/3rd line guys you can bring in here to actually make and win in the playoffs.....but it is possible if those 3 actually have real value. And for all the crap Raffi Torres takes.....wherever he goes for a playoff run seems to work magic. Except Buffalo for some reason.....
  13. Then why do we need to rebuild???????????
  14. I'd take Luongo, Kesler, Bieksa, Kassian for Myers, Miller, Vanek........seriously......
  15. Good job. I almost jumped off onto him...and an extra 500K got bet on Orb in the last 30 seconds. Once Revolutionary at least ticked up to 6-1 I felt better. I thought I had it won at the 1/8 poll but he just hung. I am going to try to save the day with an 8-6 double!
  16. Wise Dan is the best horse in the country. I was lucky enough to spot him Derby Day 3 years ago and nailed him at 12-1 with a sweet exacta. That's the best part about horseracing....great horses come out of nowhere sometimes. Wiseman's Ferry is pretty much a pure dud at stud yet this horse is amazing. Groupie Doll is a freak, and Bowman's Band is another cheapie sire that had nothing close to her. Sometimes the DNA and nature just hook up and give a gift. If I was a Darcy and bet to show....I'm looking good today, hitting the board 5 of 7 at 7-1, 14-1, 7-2, 5-1, 16-1........but I am "suffering" today to win at a future date!
  17. The slop? He moves down in my opinion. I wouldn't not bet him at 7-1 though......I figured he'd be 9-2 and Revolutionary 8-1..... Go with your gut.
  18. Alms for the poor?....... Getting spanked.....I thought Ghost Hunter had the win in the stretch. Oh well....2 shows at 7-1 and 14-1 our of 4 races.....but Homie don't play to show. Maybe Darcy took my advice and had his $2 to show down? Optimizer is going to like the soft ground in the race before the Derby. Everyone and their brother on Revolutionary now.....I'm going to puke if he goes at 5-1. I've been on this bugger all year. That's what's great about the futures wagers....I plugged my win money on Flashback, but boxed my top 3 in February, so I have a nifty little $10 exacta box on Revolutionary and It'smyluckyday in the futures. The way I'm going.....I may need it to break even.
  19. Obviously there isn't....he's still here and will be here. Maybe if the administration can see through the guy, there is a chance for change. He's a quiet, nice guy off the ice.....but a weasel and a survivior when it comes to his job. Lindy getting fired should be proof enough for anyone who had doubted.
  20. So Mr. Patience......Darcy Regier.....maxed out the salary cap, signed free agents to giant upfront money to the point the Sabres led the league in cash expenditures, and the team started out in Europe with fanfare and a public charter plane.....yet 3 short months later.....that same Mr. Patience that takes all season to work on a Bob Corkum deal......just so happened to determine and put into action a plan that was a complete 180 from what he had done and allowed to get for 50 games???????????????????? Either: A) Darcy Regier is a weasel that is attemping once again to jerk around the public or B) Darcy Regier is a pure puppet that takes orders from the owner on all things hockey or C) A and B Oh well................
  21. I just had to laugh. See....now if I was worried about preserving my value instead of my love for the city and it's fans, I would have kept my mouth shut about the Twitter account and used the info accordingly..... We're screwed 7 ways to Sunday with Darcy at GM. I don't want to add to the suffering.
  22. Ooooof.....the weather is a big question mark. We won't know if all the races are on the turf, if it's soft, if the track is sloppy and for how long and when...... I can give some of my preliminary picks, but I wouldn't go crazy. I do think Revolutionary will be fine if it is sloppy and I'd keep my Derby picks the same. If anything, slop may hinder Orb who will get stuck behind the junk. Races start at 10:30 AM..... Race 2) #4 - Cone of Light...................At 6-1 on the ML, he won his only race to date on the poly at Keeneland, but I think he could be better on dirt. The distance looks perfect. I love Tiz Wonderful as a sire because he hasn't been throwing superstars, but he gets a lot of decent horses who people might overlook. There is plenty of speed to sit off of and I see this as one of my favorite plays of the day. Race 4) #13 - Argosy...............5-1 ML, he is an Also-Eligible, which means someone needs to scratch for him to run. Nice looking horse and built to go around a mile. Had a nice first race, and the key about huge pools like Derby Day is that a lot of people will overlook an also-eligible when handicapping the day before, and there isn't a lot of time to take notice of things on the fly on such a hectic day. You can get a premium return on that alone. I would make him the favorite if he goes at 7-2 or so...but you could get lucky. If you want a Sabrespace hunch play, #3 Saint X. looks pretty good too! Race 5) #10 - Ghost Hunter.......6-1 on morning line. There is a big favorite in the race in #8 Code West who you have to exacta box with to insure yourself here. He was looked at as a probable Derby horse a few months ago. I like #10 for the reason the distance looks perfect for the pedigree and I think he can even move up on dirt over poly. If he can improve 3 or 4 lengths with those 2 factors, he can win. If it rains, he should be fine as well. Race 6) #5 - Cactus Son.........30-1 ML, his last few races are nowhere near good enough to win this, but he has had time off and runs well off the shelf. He also does ok on soft ground. Love the turf pedigree and at 5, he can still improve slightly if healthy. A total bomb shot here, but if everything goes right he can shock. Remember, it may come off, so then don't use him, but I think they will try to get all the races on if possible. Race 7) #9 - Holiday Soiree.....12-1 ML, I think this horse gets overlooked because the numbers are a tad under most of these, and the connections aren't big time. The pedigree screams of a horse that can improve at 4yo though, and she has a decent record losing to mainly good horses. Not in love with the pick at all, but I think there is value here. This is a good matchup and I can make a case for and against a lot of these here. Should be a good betting race no matter who you like with 4 or 5 of them between 3-1 and 6-1. Race 8)......not loving this one. There's a good favorite in there. I may try #6 Stephanie's Kitten and box with #5 Hungry Island who won this last year and who I liked. Lots of speed.....may just play the odds a few minutes before post. Race 9) #3 - Laurie's Rocket.....10-1 ML, this race has 2 big favorites on the outside, and another 4 who can be right there. I really think this is the perfect distance for this horse even though he's been going shorter. Can sit off of the crazy speed and maybe have enough to catch them at the end. This might be the best race of the day at the end if the frontrunners get tired. Race 10) I have no idea what to do.....#8 Wise Dan is the best horse in the country pound for pound but will be even money and is going just a tad longer than his best on turf. #9 Point of Entry will probably be 9-5 and is maybe going the best. #3 Optimizer needs to improve 4 or 5 lengths to beat those 2 at their best....but if the turf is soft, he loves it and has every right to improve at 4. I will box those 3 in a tri and see what the odds and weather are like. I'd take Optimizer at 20-1 over Wise Dan at 1-1. Probably going to box that exacta as well. Race 11) KY Derby.......#3 Revolutionary / #12 It'smyluckyday/ #16 Orb..................I have to think Orb is the favorite, and if Revolutionary holds at 5-1 or 6-1 I may shift off. I think he drifts to 7-1 and the threat of rain is a positive for him as well. Revolutionary is going to try and break well, but he isn't the fastest out of there so I am a little nervous. It'smyluckyday should be able to get good position and be ok with the slop as well. Orb is the one who is a question in the slop, and starting wide and getting mud thrown in your face in a 20 horse field isn't too much fun. You can make a case for another 6 or 7. I liked Vyjack over these months, but word is he hasn't been going so great and he is stuck outside. Overanalyze looked great his last race. I will use those two underneath. Good Luck. Don't do anything crazy.
