A lot of this stuff, (media blitz, 3rd jersey, video series, etc,), is just under attack because the team has been so crappy and some fans are so fatigued by the empty promises that it is easy to take offense to some of this as slimeball marketing tapdancing to try and distract or inflate. Even going back to the "If I want to make money, I'll drill a well" comment....there have been a lot of mixed messages coming out of the franchise. Within 25 months of that comment, season ticket prices were up between 15-25%...all while the play on the ice has nosedived even further. It's that perfect storm that will get people raising eyebrows and finding things as disingenuous. I for one have seen plenty of Sabres on their own time, visit Roswell without any fanfare. Players, coaches, broadcasters. So while it is fair to question the motives on the business side given everything else we have been told and have seen, the people themselves doing the visiting are for the most part brightening days, and doing it out of their own goodwill. Don't hate the playa...hate the game.

This is why I don't buy it for a second. Same people making the decisions. In the horse game, the easiest way to string along an owner is to pay big money for really young horses...weanlings and yearlings, or to breed yourself. You see, when you fail at having success with horses of racing age who are 3, 4 and up.....and the owner gets frustrated.....your out is to say, "Oh, these horses just weren't talented enough. If you went after higher priced horses, we would be winning a lot more!" But the problem is if the owner spends it on 2 year olds or horses already winning, then the trainer is under the gun to show results right away. If you get a stable that won't be ready to run for 2 or 3 years, the owner already spent all that money, and will be more likely to stick with you until all those horses are running. Then it will probably take another 2 years to prove that you can't train those suckers a lick either. Meanwhile....you have income for 4-5 years for boarding, training, etc. In the hockey sense, Regier has pretty much sold Pegula on the same plan. He has entrenched himself for the next 4-5 years before you get to see the full results. There's just as good of a chance they will stink as there is of success. Meanwhile Darcy collects another $8 million in salary. He already paid up for veterans on his own team and free agents....up to and over the cap on a cash outlay, and it was horrible. This scenario is why I will always be a skeptic of Darcy, not only for his talent evaluation, but for putting his survival over success.

Sorry. That's a whole lot of emotion balled into one. -

I can twerk.... Maybe the Sabres will let you do it outside the tent party for their next playoff game. Hopefully the day doesn't conflict with your daughter's senior prom. -
Good News....going into the weekend I said UB and the Bills would get outscored 100-40 between the 2 of them.......the Bills now have a shot to win tomorrow......

Pretty much. Ted Black even did a little fireback on GR one morning.

The message was....you went from a guy who most people thought was a joke and could fleece, to a guy who has said in public that Darcy is a joke and he won't deal with him.

Wow! PA really worked his tail off on this. It polished up awesome. To fit relevant lyrics in this mode is tough. I just spitballed with him for a bit at the beginning and was headed towards more of a limerick vibe, but I'm glad you held your ground PA. It works. And Swamp is a freaking jack of all trades. Nice job. My guess is that you don't smoke to be able to get that out. And the Sabre Dance guitar riff in the middle was sweet. The audio clips are perfect too. -
I figured today you'd be regressing to the mean, his performance and point out how analytics say someone with his neck condition only has a 32.3% chance to start 12 or more games for 2 consecutive years, and even if he plays all 16, the TD record would put Peyton on pace for 2.78 TD's per game at best going forward......... ;)

Just do a caricature of a Wildcat massaging a bloody Cardinal with it's teeth and you are gold for Kentucky. I think these 2 hate each other more than Ohio St. Michigan. And you HAVE to have UGA the bulldog in Georgia's. Awesome....love your work. Should be fun when we are allowed to see the final product.

Great, the 1 team Darcy was able to make decent trades with just went out the window.

Nice. I ALMOST countered the plethora of Facebook pics and comments of all the kiddies going back with a picture of a creeper van next to a playground, exclaiming my own excitement for the start of school. It's little things like that which get me out of ever having to babysit for people.

Oh...and a couple more... If you can time July 4th in either Boston or Washington, that would be sweet. The entire city of Boston turns into a giant party for the weekend, and if you go down to the water the Boston Pops plays at the Esplanade with a giant fireworks show. DC....one of the coolest moments of my life was sitting on the Capitol steps for a Memorial Day concert. It was pre-9/11 so I don't know how strict it is now, but to wander the Capitol before and sit right under the Marine playing Taps...and all the majestic music and military there....it was something. I'm sure you guys would appreciate it if there. And make sure you give yourselves a whole afternoon just for the Smithsonian. The Air+Space is awesome, and I always go there when in town. Another neat thing is to wait until night to visit some of the monuments. They are lit up, and not many people are around. Another special moment was being the only people at Iwo Jima at like 10PM after having a few beers. There was a crisp breeze and to just be there alone to take it in and reflect was special.

Sounds like fun. Maybe as you get closer, people can give you some restaurant tips. A couple additions....if you are walking NY, you might as well head into Chinatown/Little Italy. Grab some Peking Duck, and Uncle Vito has a few friends on Mulberry St who can point out a nice gravy and some cannoli and lemon ice. In Boston, a cool place is the Isabella Gardener Museum. If anyone is Catholic, it's a must see as it has probably billions in art, sculptures, etc. Amazing. Cool nonetheless. You might as well spend an afternoon in Baltimore. Try to get to Camden Yards which was the start of the stadium revolution here....I'd be happy standing in right field and drinking beer for $8. Then you can go to the inner harbor and get some crabs and such. I agree that Boston would be the #1 locale to see a game though. If you make it all the way down the Florida coast, there are a few nice places and clusters in Miami/Lauderdale. If you like fishing, I would suggest going halfway down the Keyes to Islamarada. Great deep sea fishing and laid back, but much cheaper than Key West. This is a great idea. I regret not spending a month or so in Europe yet while I am still young.

How long? Where do you start? Only down the coast or how far you willing to go inland? What do you guys like (sports?, history?, food?) How's the budget for lodging, etc.? What timeframe? I'm sure you will get tons of ideas.

That's awesome! I've kept the RIT jokes tucked away all these years as to not offend.....you just made it worthwhile!

The announcement that Tuel is projected to be the starter week 1, moved the line 3 points in 45 minutes to NE -10 1/2

2 years ago, the Pats gameplan was to throw at McKelvin 90% of the time. Last year the gameplan was to throw at Rogers 90% of the time on plays they didn't see getting 8-15 yards rushing. McKelvin, Rogers and Brooks might just be the worst collections of corners the Bills have had since the '87 strike. I think you are starting to see the problems with running a hurry-up college offense against pros who are about 30lbs of rock heavier on average. Not only does the opposition defense get tired and confused on the field, but your own guys get tired and can't fully focus or deliver proper technique. We had both QB's get hurt on option reads, and now your best defender is down half the season after TOP was 2-1 in Washington's favor. If they stick with this hurry-up with this collection of QB's and corners, get ready for plenty of 34-17 losses. Go Bandits!
