  1. "Way to go boys!...What a win!...Let's keep it going....." Tampa -220 Buffalo +180
  2. The pattern holds....3 down, then points.
  3. OK....someone try and complain about traffic with a straight face, now........... How does she do with music, Swamp? For some reason I see Art Garfunkel's voice as being medicinal.
  4. This is sad.... Florida -145 Buffalo +125
  5. I swear....if you didn't write so well, I'd think you're Mike Schopp.....
  6. But your team president has said that is the plan. Your GM said to prepare to suffer. Can you imagine what it is like to be in that locker room right now? Who in their right mind with more than a handful of NHL games in them is going to want to go out there and risk their bodies for a team that won't even get them the support to try and win? Thankfully Miller is on the verge of free agency and it's an Olympic year. He's being a good soldier. Can you imagine what his post game pressers would be like if he was on year 2 of a 6 year contract? We could take out the windmills from the shore from the amount of air power his WTF Waves would have generated by now. It's only a matter of a month or so before the kids even stop trying. The know they have secure jobs because the team doesn't care about getting better. How in the world are these guys expected to progress when you signal to them it's Mickey mouse time, and you give no incentive for the guys who actually have a backbone to go out there and give everything they have? Sooner than later, guys will start going for individual stats. Who cares if we lose 7-3 and Hodgson is a -37....Cody is going to want those 30 goals come hell or high water. As more and more national guys get comfortable taking shots at the franchise, hopefully Pegula wakes up.
  7. Yeah.....someone caught it, we both warned before hand. I can't get all Shannahanny on everyone. Have to be consistent.
  8. I am going to have to award you $0 to be consistent since I just docked qwksnd. Sorry. I trust you and know what the spirit of the bet is, but it's not fair since I have already punished someone. Everyone read the rules again please. The only time you aren't allowed to bet in units of $100 is when you have less than $100 in the bankroll.
  9. How about Fitzgerald letting the rumor he is in line for the Buffalo GM job, fester? Oh...goodie..goodie! At least they are kicking tires.
  10. Does anyone else feel guilty when they Dutch Oven their dog?
  11. Right. And the culture and people that come with that is always going to reach new levels. There are also different profiles of money men and their circles. I'm not sure how many people have seen it first hand, but you better get a hold of yourself quick and ask who you really are before you go along for the ride. "If you knew Susie...like I know Susie...."
  12. Actually....he gave up a huge hunk of his company at 25% the price a year earlier.....but in doing so, brought in some of the stickiest of the ickey to get the deal done. One of the reasons I may be a bit hesitant at times as to some of the executives of this club is because the circles these boys cruise aren't mom and apple pie.....
  13. I agree...week to week he is learning. He used his timeout yesterday to give the booth a chance to review a play even though he couldn't challenge it. He went for a FG yesterday on the 2, but at the time I said I fully supported his decision either way. What nobody ever mentions when talking about 4th down stats is how much confidence you have in your defense....and the feel of momentum during the game. I'd give Marrone a solid B/B+, and as far is the future goes...I don't know if he is a top 5 coach, but I think he is a solid 10-20 coach who at least gives you a shot to win. I was very nervous hearing him talk during the offseason, but I like him now and have some level of confidence....which I didn't expect so soon.
  14. Sorry. Check the rules in the first post. I didn't know how many would be involved, so it just makes it a heck of a lot easier to keep score.
  15. It never occurred to me. Then carpandean started making charts relative to expected playoff barrier about 5 years ago or so, and I started to see patterns that would act much like stock price when charting. It didn't make sense at first as team performance should be effected by different variables such as opponent, injuries, etc.....and stock price can be effected by human emotion or pavlovian reaction to price and technicals. But it definitely had it's place, and the Sabres really seemed to follow technical patterns for some reason. I very rarely wager on hockey, but when I see an arbitrage between the odds and what I deem a favorable technical pattern, that is when I will jump in. You see a lot more financial industry tools being used in sports betting these days. Cantor Fitzgerald developed a futures trading platform years ago that allows for live trading during games. I stay away from it because I know my philosophies and it would be danger city. The UK has allowed exchange betting for years, where the players make the markets. I may think Chicago has no shot at winning the cup and can "short" them to other bettors. It makes for better odds for players, but the vig is reduced dramatically for the host exchange. Hopes are that volume drives up to make up for it. The US has been fighting this for ages. Heck...it's getting so crazy now that I think you can buy credit default swaps on CJ Spiller! Seriously.... Here is the thread from last year...not much action in it. In years past there was more activity. http://forums.sabrespace.com/topic/21575-charts-2012-13-edition/#entry478106
  16. Here I will not move the line. Some of the games have shifted 20/30 dollars by puck drop, but I try and get an early line up so people have time. Hockey is by far the LEAST bet on "major" sport. In football, it could take a few hundred thousand to even think about moving a line. In hockey, one guy can put 10K down at a place that would actually take it, and things would start moving. Odds always slide towards game time in any sporting event. The "smart" money comes in first, and it comes in last..... I think here there is a lot of betting against Buffalo because people follow them closely and are disgusted. The only reason I took Buffalo against NYI was because of the pattern. They lost 3...ticked up with a point on an OT loss. They lost 3...and I was playing that pattern. They won...then lost. Tonight if I bet, it would have been on Buffalo, because they can't keep the slope of their losses this steep all year. I thought they might catch a double bottom and at least slow the pace of their losing. Now it's literally all bets off. They blow with the likes of Dizzy Gillespie's cheeks.
  17. Thank You Yes....units of 100 only.....unless you are picking up cigarette butts with 2 drags left....like our friend Swamp!
  18. Right. It was stupid to smoke in bed and fall asleep with a lit cigarette. When the alarm goes off, you run out of the house and call the fire department, hoping to salvage what you can to make the rebuild easier. You don't just sit there and burn up in the place.
  19. Yes there is. You can choose to ignore it. The people at the arena are forced to listen to it.
  20. I hate when "Fire Darcy" permeates the entire arena. I mean....people pay good money to watch those games, and I just want to be positive. To hear that every game....man people are just miserable for the sake of being miserable. Why don't they do something positive and chant, "Hooray Millsie!"???
  21. I'm at 1530 and standing pat. If I went one way tonight, it would be on Buffalo. If they can get a win here, they start to level off the slope and could actually go on a positive stretch. I can see them getting 12-13 out of the next 20 points with a win today. If they lose, it's still a freefall and I wouldn't touch them again for a bit. That's how technically important tonight is.
  22. But I love Petey's manboobs in that concord grape cardigan........
  23. It's sort of like Chuck'E'Cheese skeeball tickets. You get the equivalent of a crazy straw. You can put it on them. $60 would win you $84...so you'd be up to $144, which I am willing to round up to $150. Stayin Alive.......
  24. Yes....the Sabres site actually links stubhub under their tickets tab. So in essence they are competing with themselves.
