Borgen just blasted an opponent and a teammate came to the blastee's defense and wanted NOTHING to do with Will. It was comical. Borgen was out for blood too. Bascially begging for some fool to expose his face to those fists.

I'm gonna bury myself in some whiskey and Rush. Thanks Neil for some kick ass ***** music.

Trade: Calgary Michael Frolik to Buffalo for a 4th
inkman replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
Who are you trading? Cuz Risto ain't getting it. It's gonna have to be Cozens and/or 1st round picks. That would only make this team's problems worse. They need to hold onto draft capital and draft the right freaking players which Botterill still has the jury out on him. -
They aren't soft at all. They have two guys in their lineup regularly who's main job in fighting. Borgen, MacWilliam, Cornel all drop the gloves. Video to come.

Amerks were outshooting Bellville 9-1 at one point and trailing 1-0. This team is going through a tough stretch. Now trailing 2-1. CJ Smith with the tally.

The Sabres: Drafting and Prospect Development
inkman replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Sorta. No Sabres fans would claim either of those players were difference makers. I suppose you cold argue those players go top 5 ninety percent of the time. If those are the Sabres "good" first rounders (minus the HOFers that everyone knew would be good selected in the top 6 of the draft), it really speaks to how awful the rest of the lot was. Right now our roster should be supplemented with the young stars we drafted around the Eichel and Dahlin drafts. Instead we got Mittlestadt, Girgensons, Risto, Reinhart (I love him but for 2nd overall he's fallen a bit short), Nylander (who thankfully turned into Joki), Grigorenko (who was used to get ROR who we gave away), Kassian, Pysyk, Armia. If those guys were added to a core like Boston, Chicago or Pittsburgh, those teams probably don't miss a beat. Trying to build around those guys as your core, yikes. -

I didn't count Housley or Barasso as they were gimmes like Eichel. -

Looking at hockeydb history of Sabres draft picks (minus the gimmes line Eichel, Vanek, Turgeon) you gotta go back to the effin 70s to call the Sabres first round picks anything other than Abysmal. Zagrapan, Kryukov, Dudacek, the Anderson's, some guy named Joel Savage, Dennis Persson (Berglund, Nic Foligno and Lucic all picked soon after) The list is a horror show. This is why we are where we are. We have drafted like ball sack. Having mid to late 1st Rd picks didn't help but you have to hit at least 50% on those and it ain't close. Ugh. -
How would everyone feel about this roster? Olofsson-Eichel-Reinhart E. Kane-ROR-Sheary Skinner-Johansson-Frolik Girgensons-Larsson-Okposo Jokiharju-Risto Bogo-Pilut Miller-McCabe Lehner Ullmark I have that cap figure at around $80 mill. I doubt Kane re-signs here. God only knows what would have happened if Lehner was able to overcome his issues here. I think GMTM could have gotten to a similar place. I'm probably his only proponent at this point. He was at least willing to take some chances, some of which worked out, others not so much. The roster at least looks like a competent NHL team. Defense maybe a little suspect and there were goalies to be had other than Lehner if that went the current route.

Yeah it definitely too early to make any sort of judgement but a nice two goal giant swoop of emotion, ala Steve Bernier, would have been nice. -
A scoring line.

Which is cool and what I come to this thread for but unfortunately it makes up 2% of the content.

The anthem singer? Yeah I did not like that version. Just all over the place. Too much American Idol wannabe not enough actual signing. Sounded like a sheep.

Its his face. His fat chubby cheek mug of a 14 year old. We want our hockey players to look like Bogo or Dalton Smith. Toothless, Scruffy bearded warriors. Not the kid who serves Chalupas at Taco Bell.

Since there may be an actual bona fide trade rumor (I know what exactly is that?) every 50 pages, lets rename the thread "99.5% Speculation with a trade rumor sprinkled in every month or so" Just useless meaningless verbal JO. If thats what the people want, who am I to argue. Seems a little pointless but here we are on page 213.

So as I said before it's the 2019-2020 BS and very little to do with trades thread. Just people making stuff up. It would be cool if we had actual inside knowledge but instead we get Derek Roy for Malkin e5 type posts.

I think his line last night was with Dea and Remi Ellie

We do make a lot of Aldi products, all of which I stand behind but unfortunately garlic knots aren't one of them. My company is pretty strict about allowable verbiage on labels but parent companies can override us. Aldi is not one of those companies. Now whether or not someone plays with the term "hand tied" is a different story. I find it hard to believe a company would go out of its way to call something hand tied without actually doing it as it doesn't have a health or dietary benefit. They are almost certainly hand packed so applying the process to the from end doesn't seem far fetched.

I don't actually think any of that information is true. It's made up fanboi *****. Which gets back to the heart of the issue with this thread. Most if not all of the posts in here are just people making things up. If I want that, I'll go watch the Mandalorian.

Every player should be individually ranked so there is always BPA. Player 1, Player 2, etc. That way you don't let short-sightedness blur your vision. -

No one should ever draft for need. Even if that player is good enough to make your team out of the gate (which has to be less than 10%), he won't be good enough to make a trendous implact until 3-4 years down the road. Exception being Connor McDavid/Sydney Crosby types. Free agency and trades are how teams need to fill out rosters. The draft is where you get talent so take the BPA.
