Is there a Rasmus Dahlin Blockbuster trade to be had?
inkman replied to inkman's topic in The Aud Club
Dahlin, Mittelstadt, Thompson, Bogosian, Pilut for Nico Hischier, Taylor Hall, Wayne Simmonds, PK Subban, Miles Wood Not sure if the salaries work out but you give the Devils a group of young players they can build around (along with whatever super high pick they will have this year while the Sabres get veterans that can step right in and a future star in Nico. I don't love the idea but it's something like what you asked for. -

Not if you get the right pieces. -

Like I said, deck chairs on the titanic. That accomplished nothing. Probably makes the team worse. -

They need to do something to overhaul this roster. Give me a better plan. -
Apostrophe please!

I don't think it's actually going to happen or even feasible but I needed something to get my mind off this terrible season...again. -

Cool. Tell everyone they are getting the next Lidstrum so we can get a slew of players a picks. I want Forsberg and Duchene type players, and a number one goalie and two top pairing D in return. That's how you fix this team. Waiting on this generational talent to come to fruition is gonna kill this organ-eye-zation. -

I would just be happy if it looked like he could play defense. -
Wonder what the NHL thinks of the state of its franchise in Buffalo

Do people read the whole thread? I said he needs to be fired first. -
Cathrine Bell from popular 90s TV show JAG. Yeah I didn't watch it either.

That "rumor" has been out there for a while. Throw Mitts or Tage in there and grab another scorer.

You'd be getting back a franchise changing deal. Think Lindros. The Dique got #1C forsbeg, top pairing D in Duschene and Hoffman, #3C in Ricci and a #1 goalie. Sign me up. -

Except Jack is at a MVP level now. Moving him and keeping Dahlin would just set you back 5 years. -

Draisaitl & Nurse? Don't let your love blind you. What about Petterson & Boeser in a package? Exactly Fire JBot, then make the trade. -
Thinking about how to fix the Sabres, the only thing I can come up with that isn't shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic is a Blockbuster invloving Dahlin. I know this sounds blasphemous to most but did fans feel that way prior to Turgeon for LaFontaine? Is there a superstar forward in his prime we could pry away from a team looking to rebuild around a player like Dahlin. I can't think of any but I'm sure my friends here at Sabrespace can come up with something. Or completely blast me for even making the suggestion. Blast away...?

I'll go if @PASabreFan goes. I'll have to warn everyone, I don't know how to stop, pass, shoot or doing anything hockey related. But I think I'll look kinda cool out there.

Quittin for Quinton.

Those are pretty good. My boss would still fire my ass if I told him I was trying to do stuff but no one is cooperating. This should be no different.

Being indifferent is much worse for the Sabres, probably better for your soul. If your angry, you still care and are most likely still consuming their product. Indifference will lead to complete abandonment of their product. No ticket sales, no concessions, no merch, no expensive cable/satellite/streaming service. IMHO, the Sabres are pushing fans to indifference. A year or two of suckitude will get anger, a decade of incompetence, will get abandonment. It's much harder to get those fans back as opposed to angry fans.

Yes.
