  1. It’s obvious they need to be split, but again, where do you put them without screwing up other lines that are working?
  2. It means that there isn’t a specific positional order when assembling a team as it depends on what players at what positions are available when assembling it. It means acquiring talent, regardless of position. Everyone wants that HOF goalie, but you can’t just wait for his availability while better players at other positions are available to select. I don’t know enough about how the Kraken are doing it to comment. I’ll take your word for it that stardom was predicted for Pekar. I just don’t recall that hype. Then again, I took an extended break from this forum so I may have missed it.
  3. Pekar another Marchand? Mitts getting 8 figures? Bailey and Baptiste becoming good players? I honestly don’t recall any of that. Having high hopes for prospects is simply not the same as predicting stardom for them.
  4. Building a team in any sport is never a linear process.
  5. In last year’s 2021-2022 NHL draft prospects thread, I commented that when I viewed his highlight videos that I didn’t think Wright was that impressive. Nothing he did was explosive looking to me. I just didn’t get the number overall pick hype at all. The fact that he fell in the draft and is now doing an AHL stint doesn’t surprise me in the least. I also wouldn’t be surprised if he’s eventually returned to the OHL this year, either.
  6. If ever two players never played like losers on a losing team, it’s Okposo and Girgs. Indeed, Girgs is still the same player who was still blocking shots in the third period of a game they were trailing by 11 goals when he played in a junior tourney in Europe. That is the antithesis of a loser mentality.
  7. It didn’t touch the ground. But what bothers me is that as soon as his knee touched out of bounds, the play was over and he had control of the ball at that point. And if the play was over, then how is it possible to complete a “football move” after a play? The NFL catch rule is absurd.
  8. Now they’re down to only missing a third of their D. Not that missing Bryson is any great loss. I like Fitz at times, but Pilut leaves a ton to be desired imo. Adequate physical skills, but very slow processing. That’s more than a fair point.
  9. I’m afraid there’s no “it” unless Donny disrupts the chemistry of another line that’s clicking.
  10. Well imo, acceptable is a direct indictment on the entire organization whereas tolerate means exactly that. Sometimes a deeper nuance is called for when separating the two concepts. Especially when the former suggests that losing is just fine with everyone associated with the team. Losing has been the result, but never the desired outcome.
  11. I seriously doubt losing is acceptable to Adams or anyone else in the organization. But they’re realists in the process of developing the youngest team in the league and I suspect they view losing as something that will have to be tolerated and that’s not the same as acceptable. We fans don’t need to be patient and we are right to be frustrated. But KA and the organization have to be patient, imo.
  12. Yep, I’ll be home watching the Bills as well. Couldn’t get any takers for our season tickets, either. And it’s Colorado! 😂
  13. Will they be showing the Bills game on the Jumbotron?
  14. I watch a lot of Amerks games and I like Weissbach’s game, but he’s a left winger so I can’t see him replacing Mitts at center. Even though he’s a very young rookie, I’m intrigued by your Kulich idea.
  15. I’d say that Cozens is pulling JJ and Quinn along.
  16. Everyone knows you never walk the dog when the Sabres are leading 4-1 in the 3rd. Never. We can forgive this onetime oversight, but don’t ever, ever let it happen again.
  17. C’mon, Thorny. There was absolutely no rancor or animosity in that post. If anything, it was a self-deprecating shot at my own poor memory of the post of yours I liked on Monday. Anyway, I hope you’ll decide to keep adding to the thread.
  18. Said the same thing to my BIL while watching Cozens trying to do the Tage.
  19. That was two whole days ago for crissakes. Glad you agree that Tage would be even better with the same kind of supporting cast that Eichel has.
  20. To me it looked like after Cozens knocked the puck away, the Detroit player held Cozens’s arm. I’ll have to look at it again.
