  1. Hey @Doohickie, I’m glad I took you off of ignore so I could see your PSA. And now that I’ve seen it, I can do a much better job putting you back on ignore. Much appreciated.
  2. Nah. Our backup will fill in capably while Portillo is enjoying long bus rides in the minors.
  3. I believe it’s two games left against each team for a total of four. That’s 24 points right there!
  4. Glad he’s got awesome goal calls. But what about the action leading up to the goal!? He can’t keep up with the play and relies too much on the VIEWING audience to fill in those blanks for themselves while the RADIO audience has little to no clue about what led up to the goal in the first place. It goes something like this: ”The draw will come out over the blue line. (Inane conversation with Rayzor)…….. Dahlin behind the Buffalo net. (More conversation with Rob) …… now Tuch carries behind the net… Thompson shoots. Score!” To the radio listener that paints little picture of the action and it sucks.
  5. Not for nothing Thorny, while you are one of my favorite contributors to this forum, you have gotta be one it’s most defensive as well. Let’s hope Tage stays healthy and keeps playing well. Enjoy the rest of the season.
  6. When he was “pacing” for 104 points earlier in the season you cautioned me against doing that because it seldom ends up that way, etc. Now he’s pacing at 126, but you don’t buy that, either, which is cool and I understand. But am I ok to keep predicting that 104 point pace? You’ll have to forgive any inadvertent conflation because I didn’t get the hyperbole of the Art Ross comment.
  7. That, too. Given the style of humor, I’d say it’s likely.
  8. Spoken like a winner who understands yesterday doesn’t mean squat about the next game.
  9. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say I don’t think that’s sustainable.
  10. They almost seem like the same poster logging in from three different devices, networks, and user names.
  11. DG certainly agrees as he’s come right out and admitted in the past that the focus was gonna be on offense first because it’s easier to teach and master than the D side of things. I tend to agree.
  12. It’s more ironic than funny, but the laughing emoji is the closest thing to ironic imo since irony is often humorous. Anyway, I found it so because it brought to mind our previous exchange a while back about “playing the pace game” and how you cautioned me about doing it when I predicted TT would finish with over 100 points on the season, which I still think he will do, his health permitting. But I think the Art Ross is McDavid’s until he decides it isn’t, also health permitting. But it’s all good.
  13. Far too often. But that’s kinda how losing teams acquire superstars in the first place.
  14. He’s still a one year wonder in that it’s a wonder he’s only getting paid $1.6m for this year!😄
  15. Was it @darksabrewho once said a wall of text like this looked like a goalie pad? 😂
  16. I’m sorry, I thought your point was that if the Sabres removed him from the lineup that they’d be doing so prematurely; that the jury is still out on Mitts’s potential as an NHL player. Per the bold, I’d say that’s rather obvious and that underscores my point that when they do finally move on from him there won’t be anything premature about it. Again, it will be very well considered decision. The opposite of premature.
  17. Good news is, as other lines keep playing well, there are simply less opportunities for Mitts and VO to disrupt chemistries. They seem destined to play themselves out of the lineup together.
  18. Premature conclusion regarding Mitts? Since DG took the reins, he has given Mitts every opportunity in every role available to a forward with various line mates up and down the lineup, all to no avail. Except for that once in a while game or play. If it’s a premature conclusion, it will be one of the best informed premature conclusions in history.
  19. It never fails. Mitts does his once every six games or so something noticeable and all the “look at that effort” or “he’s really working hard to turn it around” posts start coming out of the woodwork. Sorry John, but I can’t give Mitts too much credit for simply doing his job on a play when he doesn’t do that the vast majority of the time. Great hustle or not, he’s shown himself to be a poor decision making giveaway machine far more often than not when he’s on the ice. Being a great guy and popular teammate who works hard only gets you so far for so long.
  20. Sage advice to be sure, but it’s a waste of time on this troll.
  21. Must be an interesting dynamic for Donnie G and some of those players he’s known since they were kids in the US development program.
  22. Anyone else get the impression the refs spoke to both teams between the first and second and informed them that zero crap would be tolerated? Because the cheapness Columbus displayed in the first was nowhere to be seen in the second.
