Itās great we have a few workhorses out there, but man, we have a ton of hockey coming up on a compressed schedule and that kind of grind is a little concerning.

Marty just made a great point by saying the Sabres actually played their best when they got down 5-4. I thought so, too. Love the comeback OT wins, but I could stand protecting a two goal lead and winning in regulation for a while. Shades of the Kardiac Kids.

Why would I sneer at your prediction? Do you think Iām actively rooting against Mitts just because I donāt think heās a very good hockey player? That just because I have no expectation for him to be anything more than the frenetic, often hockey senseless JAG that he is that I would not appreciate whatever infrequent positive contribution he might make? I could make a case for why Iād appreciate it more than his die hard defenders.

I wonder if the refs will give us a tuck rule call along the way as well.
-
Nearly half of his goals are on the PP or empty netters so I have to question his goal scoring impact outside of that. Other than having a major league shot, nothing else about his game stands out. Quinn is just a better hockey player in every aspect of the game.

Buffalo Bills: Damar Hamlin collapsed and taken to hospital
K-9 replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Minor quibble so let me clarify. By being the first trainer there, he detected the loss of pulse as he was attending Damar and immediately recognized the cardiac event as it related to that loss of pulse. Regardless, it was an incredible display of awareness, training, and skill on the part of Denny Kellington to save that young manās life. -
Mitts I could see, but VO would absolutely worsen the Girgs/Okposo pair. And VO would provide little for Krebsās development. Like I said weeks ago, no matter where you put Mitts or VO after splitting them up is gonna screw up another line that is working pretty well at the moment.

Can you imagine Damar Hamlin on the stage and hoisting the Lombardi with his teammates? Talk about tears of joy! -

Denny Kellington was the Bills trainer who got to him first, immediately recognized the cardiac event, and stsrted administering CPR. He literally saved Damarās life. Literally. -
Inkman has company.

Itās also an insult to turds.

No argument here. Just because Mitts sucks doesnāt mean a couple others donāt suck more.
-
I honestly donāt think it matters. And given the way DG uses his lines, I donāt think the traditional 1-4 line labels apply anyway.
-
š Thatās just it and as Iāve said previously, I have no expectation of him. None, zip, zero, nada. Because I doubt he will ever be anything different than he is now; an inconsistent player at best. And that inconsistency is the very definition of a flash in the pan.
-
I give him zero credit for being a versatile player who can fill in for injured players, etc. when we have several players who have offered the same versatility as well. Difference is, when those players go back to their usual roles, theyāre effective. Wish I could say the same thing about Casey. These discussions are exactly as I predicted. He has a good game or two and all his fans come out to celebrate and tell us we are all wrong, that Mittās analytics show heās a good player, that he has finally turned the corner and we just donāt understand how valuable he is and can be. So have at it. But Iām gonna wait until he is anything more than the flash in the pan he always is.

Better get two if they make the playoffs.
-
Z has been in this role the majority of his career. Iād expect Mitts to have figured it out in the same time frame.
-
Mitts should be better than Z on offense as he has superior offensive skills. But if youāre gonna throw offensive stats out there, can you do the same for the D side of things? Girgs has shown a propensity to limit the opposition on the ice over the years and has settled nicely into that role as he is harder to play against. Mitts? Not so much.
-
Gee, and all this time I thought it was what I actually observed while watching every game he has played when all along it was me having the wrong expectations and not knowing what kind of player he really is. Iām so sorry, Mitts, that Iāve misunderstood you these last five years.
-
Agree he is having a great tourney and KA should be interested, but Czechia has one of the most impressive overall D corp Iāve seen in a while at the U20 as well.
-
I suppose thatās progress because prior to this season, other teams couldnāt even see us moaning and groaning.
-
Trust me, I donāt base my opinion or expectations of Mitts on his draft position in the least. Indeed, I have zero expectations when it comes to Casey. My opinion is based solely on what I have observed watching him in every game he has played since he came into the league. He is not without skill, has great hands, and gives effort. But after five years, he has shown me nothing in the way of developing poise; of being able to slow it down for a tick to make the better play instead of frenetically trying to force things most of the time. We have already seen several younger players on the team demonstrate that poise. IMO, poise is what separates the average player from the good and the good player from the great. All I ever see from Mitts is glimpses.

If and when we play the Bengals again, someone needs to punch Hayden Hurst hard in the face because it looks like his unsportsmanlike piling on of Taron Johnson at the end of the play is what caused Taronās head injury and having to leave the game as a result. At least thatās what it looks like to this untrained eye.
