  1. Giving up two goal leads to an inferior opponent is not a surprise in the least. We just did it four days ago. Inexcusable. Granato needs to channel his inner Lindy, but I donā€™t think he has it in him.
  2. Heā€™s been slumping for weeks. Teams are making it a point to take away his space and itā€™s on him now to adjust.
  3. True. McDavid is a solo artist playing the great orchestras in the great venues of the world while Eichel is competing for a chair in a middle school band by comparison.
  4. I always thought it was ironic that he and Lanier were both drafted by and were teammates on the Pistons in the 70s.
  5. In terms of pushing himself, Eichel trains and prepares as hard as anyone imo. I just think Eichel arrived in the league already very close to his ceiling, while others needed some time to mature physically, etc., before taking off. Jack just didnā€™t have as much room to grow. And McDavid is just in another stratosphere and Jack was always gonna have second chair in the orchestra playing next to him.
  6. Almost didnā€™t see Boston. They are nearly literally off the chart.
  7. Eichel wanted out in the summer of 2020, so it was easy for KA to see Eichel wasn't on board.
  8. Would be interesting to see them determine if the player preceded the puck over the blue line when the puck is overhead.
  9. Lotta that going around lately.šŸ˜‚
  10. Actually, I was wrong. He was the 1st overall in the 1970 NBA draft. For whatever reason I thought he fell a pick or two. But he was the consensus number one his entire senior year so I'm not surprised. They never had the opportunity. But anyone would have been better than John Hummer.šŸ˜‚
  11. He was the guard on Villanovaā€™s team that accidentally injured Bob Lanier in the east regional final of the 1970 NCAA tourney. Bona won that game and advanced to the final four, but without Lanier they had little chance. That knee injury probably cost Lanier being the number one pick in the draft, too.
  12. Cozens would absolutely go ballistic and tee off. He might get his ass kicked in the process, but thatā€™s beside the point. I loved how he took absolutely no crap from Tkachuk the other day.
  13. I still haven't forgiven Chris Ford!
  14. Would that be the same defensive coach with one of the leagueā€™s most explosive offenses the last three seasons?
  15. Thatā€™s a completely different argument than saying the public has a right to the information.
  16. This is simply not true. There is no codified right for the public to know one way or the other. Half the presidents in history had health issues that nobody knew about either at the time or not until after the fact.
  17. I agree entirely. The last several games, especially. That was ā€œmoving dayā€ and they didnā€™t show up when Donnie G should have been convincing them that the time is now and they needed to play with desperation. ā€œOh, but they hung tough with Seattle and Winnipeg. They can compete with the good teams.ā€ That is horse crap because teams that compete with good teams donā€™t get shut out at home by bad teams and give up two goal leads in the third to the worse teams. We all know they need better goaltending and D depth. That they need experience and maturity. But what they need more than anything is an infusion of Give A F**k.
  18. It isnā€™t one god damned straw; itā€™s fifty years of straws. Thatā€™s a lot of straws and tens of thousands of dollars. There is nothing sudden about this so Iā€™m bemused by your bemusement as well. Hereā€™s what it looks like to me: this is a team full of players content with just playing hockey. No desperation, no realization that they are in a playoff race and little concern if they make it or not. They are using ā€œdevelopmentā€ as a crutch. And that includes Granato. So pardon me if thatā€™s worn thin at this point. The least they can do is care as much as I do.
  19. Totally understandable. And they flat out did Fleury wrong. Not only a great goalie who led them to a cup final in their first year of existence, but also the face of the franchise and a pillar in the community, especially after the hotel massacre.
  20. I got nothinā€™. Was really looking forward to the Miller celebration on Thursday, but they donā€™t deserve another minute of my support. Friends and family can have my STs for the rest of the season. Iā€™m spent. And for the first time in decades season ticket renewal is questionable.
