  1. Plus 3 on that team is an accomplishment. I get the weariness by some to bringing back a player from that era of dysfunction, but he was always a high effort player and never a douche nozzle like others on those teams so, if he is agreeable and KA thinks he can help on the back end, I’d be all for it.
  2. I understand it is triple decker bunk beds and everybody has to wear footie pajamas.
  3. A few weeks ago, I kept hearing how in January we weren’t gonna be able to keep feasting on backup goalies, that teams were gonna bring us back to reality by making us face their best net minders. Well, looking at the list of goalies we have faced on this current streak that just doesn’t seem to hold water as they’ve beaten Sorokin, Oettinger, and now Hallebuyck; three of the top five ranked goalies in the league. Not too shabby.
  4. Donnie just said Dylan is ok, that Dylan was chomping at the bit to get back out there, and if there was more time left, Donnie would have put him back out there.
  5. I watched the Tage Thompson “Mic’d Up” feature on the Sabres website and bad player or not, it’s obvious that Mitts is one of those glue guys on the team which is not an unimportant role. I think it helps explain DG’s loyalty and patience with him as well.
  6. I think the larger point @PromoTheRobotwas making is that holding teams off and winning the close games is a trait that teams must exhibit on their way to being great.
  7. Looks like the refs swallowed their whistles. As long as they’re consistent with it I can tolerate it.
  8. It isn’t just the kids though. I’m seeing fatigued, lazy plays out of our vets, too.
  9. Power gotta get a goal song now. Maybe even his picture on the NHL website.
  10. That’s indicative of something and there’s a word for it I think.
  11. Parts of it. Which is sometimes necessary. It’s amusing to later watch the highlights of the plays I had to listen to previously and see how much of what I heard differed from what I actually saw later on.
  12. I don’t think you’re wrong at all. So much of today’s sports medicine practice revolves around recovery and getting and keeping players ready to meet the grind. No time for shenanigans anymore. It’s get on the plane and push the electrolyte infused fluids.
  13. The fact that other PBP guys are just as bad or worse does nothing to improve DD’s standing. That DD was still describing Power’s shot while Tuch was making a key play to set up the winning goal only underscores the fact that he doesn’t keep up with the play. And the Thompson, far side, shoots, scores call, in addition to being misleading, reinforces that yet again. Radio listeners were clueless as to what actually transpired on the ice until after the fact. And yes, people still listen to radio. It’s not a big deal, but the Sabres should let DD play to his strength, which is feature reporting. PBP is just not something he’s good at.
