That’s all well and good and I’m sure many of us have nostalgia for those games and the snow days off from school when a pickup football game was the norm. But no NFL game has ever been played in a blizzard. Ever. Heavy snowfalls, sure. With windy conditions, certainly. But never in a qualified meteorological blizzard, with “sustained winds or frequent gusts over 35mph and visibility of less than a quarter mile for an extended period of time (at least three hours).” The 1948 NFL championship game in Philly came closest with over a foot of snow fall and winds of 20mph and even though the scribes dubbed it “The Blizzard Game” as it came to be remembered, it just didn’t qualify. Orchard Park is currently meeting every qualification as I type this.

Our Boy Savoie is a great name for a racehorse.

29 points in 12 games at the junior level. Glad he’s having phenomenal success, but I continue to question how that level of competition is getting him ready for the NHL.
-
Glad you found it, but sorry you have to watch it. 😄

Amerks crapping the bed to fall behind 4-2 with 8:49 to go.

2-2 after two periods in Charlotte, who dominated the period.

As @jad1 said above, everyone from the GM on down confuses effort with results and I tend to agree. -
I’m actually watching it on AHLTV. Weird.

Amerks playing in the Outdoor Classic against the Charlotte Checkers tonight. Up 1 zip after one in a goal by Weisbach. Comrie stopped all 16 shots he faced.

As long as the boys don't confuse effort with results, I’m not too displeased with today’s performance. -
Jost has been good since he was sent down. He really is the epitome of a tweener: a tad too go for the A, a tad not good enough for the show.
-
He came back after the high stick to the face but didn’t he take a slash to his hand area later on?
-
I’d rather they remove Power from the 2nd PP unit. His decision making is just too slow. I’d give little Johnson a look at least. He seems much more decisive.

While I would have preferred a domed facility downtown, the new stadium will still mitigate the weather concerns exponentially, especially the wind. Sure , it’ll be cold, wet, and snowy at times, but the weather won’t have nearly the same impact in the new stadium as it does currently.

Nope. -
Danny Briere? Anyway, I’ll just agree to disagree that Granato handled the situation in the best way by disrupting a line that was dominant in their consecutive wins against the Habs and the Pens.
-
I’m all for holding players accountable and agree dropping him down to a lower line can do that, by why last night? Tage had four points, was a plus 3 and playing well over the previous two wins so why disrupt that rhythm? I think Donny G over thinks and forces things sometimes and I wonder if the players don’t appreciate that.
