  1. None of them have cited those reasons for refusing invitations. And I don’t think any of them have a problem with being creative, either, as non-creative satirists tend not to get gigs in any venue, let alone college campuses. College venues have long been the bastion for cutting edge satire. The greats like Mort Sahl, Dick Gregory, and others were highly sought after and they helped establish colleges as an audience eager to hear them. They were long considered a proving ground for their material. But something has definitely changed in the last 10-15 years.
  2. In a nutshell, they cite the reason is because many in today’s college audiences simply don't, won’t, or can’t understand satirical commentary.
  3. Comedians performing at comedy clubs is one thing, but several modern day satirists have said they will no longer accept invitations to appear at college campuses and that is indeed a sad commentary.
  4. The nature of the job requires calibrating and recalibrating so I think KA will be doing just that.
  5. If Harris can stay healthy, a big if, he can really help this offense.
  6. Jost needs to be in the lineup not only because he's played reliably well since arriving, but also because it keeps Mitts on the wing where he belongs. Removing him actually weakened two spots.
  7. Again, from a grammatical point of view, commas were not required. But if you wanna add them for dramatic effect, that’s fine, too. I also don’t have a problem with capitalizing a word for added emphasis, either. It’s the same as italics imo. Although too many and it comes across as shouting.
  8. I mentioned before puck drop that unless Jost was held out due to injury, then my confidence in Granato would be challenged. Sure enough, Donny said that Jost was a healthy scratch. My faith in his ability has gone down several notches as a result. We are a better team with Jost in the lineup and that is obvious to anyone who watches regularly. If Granato is that oblivious to the obvious, then he simply isn’t the coach to get us to the promised land.
  9. That’s just putting pauses in the phrase. Which is fine, but not required.
  10. I put my editor’s hat on. Tell me where in his post a comma necessary?
  11. Unacceptable. Man, sometimes I really miss Chris Drury. If you don’t hate losing more than you love winning, then you ma as well hang it up.
  12. Get back to me when you actually understand why they are rated so highly to begin with.
  13. Damn, they got the extra point. But at least they didn’t go for two. The seven goals are really gonna negatively impact UPL’s numbers. And just when he was on the cusp of greatness, too.
  14. Sorry, but I don’t read every post before responding to the ones I do read. How many more ya got?
  15. Maybe he’s still recovering from injuries then. I really DGAF at this point. He is not good enough currently, regardless. Yes, he needs better supprt. What goalie doesn’t? But if a team has to play perfect hockey in front of him for him to succeed, what does that really say about him? A goalie MUST make saves, regardless.
  16. Right, they’re overrated. Second best record in the league the last three years at 37-6 behind the the Chiefs at 40-10 while averaging the same PPG.
  17. Nobody ever suggested they were. But goalie is a good place to start seeing as how we haven’t had a legit one for a while now.
  18. All goalies are gonna find themselves out of position at times, but UPL lacks the agility to recover from what I’ve seen. He had the same issues in the AHL as well.
  19. Swayman has superior movement in the crease. I think that’s the worst part of UPL’s game. He is a glacier.
  20. Fair points, all. Especially the Dahlin and Tuch injuries. Both still aren't at 100%.
  21. As long as it’s on another team after a good trade for us, I’ll hope he hits the 40 mark, too.
