  1. This is far better than anyone questioning the severity of his injury and whether he is malingering or not.
  2. I suspect the Sabres told him he is not NHL ready, that he needs AHL seasoning, and it didn’t sit well with his camp.
  3. Of course. As has anyone who’s been here long enough. He can be contentious here, but his role as a reporter at a presser vs. his role as a hockey forum member with opinions are quite different. I don’t recall him editorializing his questions at pressers in the past.
  4. Bruins fans are the worst. The racial abuse they heaped upon Joel Ward in the 2012 playoffs after he scored the game seven OT goal to win the series and eliminate Boston was shameful; just a disgusting display.
  5. Sabres and other NHL teams have had several unsigned players at their development camps over the years. Two of the more notable ones just last year with Levi and Portillo. There are insurance policies that indemnify them against injury and I’d bet every unsigned prospect has one.
  6. Per the bold text, perhaps Johnson is constipated. That and he thinks he’s better than he is.
  7. Sully is in a class by himself when it comes to douchey press questions and Harrington isn’t far behind. But I never found Wawrow to be that way which is why I was a bit surprised at the question about guarantees. It seemed out of character for him.
  8. You’d think someone with as much experience in sports reporting would know better than to expect any GM, coach, or player to guarantee or assure anything. The very nature of sports is that nothing is or can be guaranteed. I’m surprised Wawrow went down that road. It was amateurish at best.
  9. “The Core of Entitlement” was the previous core since jettisoned. I haven’t heard one disparaging remark about anyone on the current squad, either from people at KBC or PSE. Quite the opposite in fact. Can’t say the same about the previous group.
  10. Perhaps I can see your point as it relates to his first start against the Rangers, but his performance in that game certainly earned him another start. And he continued to earn other starts with each game he played. Which all meant KA, DG, and Co. obviously thought Levi gave them the best chance of winning. And if UPL or Comrie have an issue with that, then they should seek to elevate their own games after their abysmal display most of the season. You’d think they’d be motivated to do so after seeing how a college player came in and immediately showed he was better and gave the team the best chance to win.
  11. Perhaps not as egregious as Hall or Staal, but as soon as he knew he was trade bait, he put it on cruise control. At least that’s how I saw it. I admit my outrage at the situation at the time may be influencing my recollection a bit.
  12. I was one who wanted him gone as he quit on his teammates and fans along with Hall and Staal. Just went into full self-preservation mode and just went thru the motions. I don’t care how bad the team or how dire the circumstances, but that is cheating the game on the worst level. And as good as he is, I wouldn’t take him back on this team regardless how desperate we are for a quality 2nd pair RHD. And as Krueger’s total cluelessness on how to run a team may have been, the players still owe us their full effort.
  13. Next season is in the future, no? KA has stated on several occasions that the goal is to build a perennial contender, which means they are always “future based.” He would be remiss if he wasn’t concentrating on the long term. It’s the definition of a fluid situation.
  14. So true. What a sad commentary on the NHL. They really are bush league at times.
  15. Really surprised Bunting got that three game suspension. He definitely deserved it, but the league has often been reticent to levy meaningful punishment in these matters, especially in the playoffs.
  16. If the linked is the article you’re referencing then I assure you, I’ve read it. Cassidy didn’t pull any punches as usual for him, especially in the embedded presser. It was nice of the Las Vegas Chronicle to make excuses for Jack though. https://lvchronicle.com/golden-knights/golden-knights-bruce-cassidy-calls-out-jack-eichel/
  17. Is that the same Cassidy who publicly called Eichel out for not contributing enough and gave him fourth line minutes earlier in the season?
  18. To be fair, it wasn't just Eichel. It was the dynamic of several that became one uber personality not only in the room, but the entire building as well. Perhaps if Eichel’s first room was dominated by different types, it might have been a different dynamic and different development altogether.
  19. Why do you have to rely on someone to ban you when you can just do that yourself if you feel that strongly about not wanting to be here?
  20. You keep confusing the issue by suggesting we are somehow clueless about Eichel’s playing ability. I’ll try to simplify for you: Great player. Better villain. Now, if it’s ok, I’d like to get back to LMAO for his pass out of the offensive zone to nobody while Vegas was on the PP in the waning minutes last night.
  21. You might wanna brace yourself, because our favorite villain is in store for more ball busting with every gaffe he makes. And while I fully expect him to excel, be a huge factor, and make plays in the playoffs (he’s just too good not to), I will NOT praise him in the least. He won’t garner an ounce of my appreciation for his play as he has forfeited that privilege. Just like every sports villain. I’ll give him credit for that though, as there have only been a handful of true villains in my many decades of sports fandom and it’s not an easy list to make in the least. So kudos to Jack for that.
  22. I find the rent free commentary ironic as it’s always directed at people busting Eichel’s balls by those who just can’t tolerate that ball busting. If anyone is living rent free in someone’s head, it’s the Eichel ball busters in the heads of those who feel compelled to defend him at every turn. When they catch wind of the smallest busting of Johnny’s chops, they come a runnin’.
