Trey Lance is a couple years of good coaching away from being an NFL QB. There was a tweet recently from some talking head that pointed out that over his entire career, from HS to college, to the NFL, he has only 588 snaps at the position. Perhaps the most inexperienced QB to ever enter the league.

I’m as intrigued by Novikov as I’ve been by any Sabres prospect in recent memory. I just have a feeling we are gonna be seeing him in the show much sooner than later.

^This. And also, imo, having Pesce for every game will get us thru times of poor goaltending better than Hellebuyck would get us thru times of poor defense in the limited amount of games a goalie plays.

Regarding Pesce, I’d say the first thing that needs to give is his waiving his NTC to Buffalo. It’s all a moot point without that.

Who knows indeed. But as a 7th D man he wouldn’t have been Jillson’s replacement. He would have replaced the first of the three defensemen to get hurt in that series (Numminen, Lydman, or Tallinder), before Jillson was even called up.

We were down to our 9th defenseman after losing three of our top six in that series, so I doubt a D man of Lybushkin’s “calibre” would have helped much anyway.

That was last year. The acquisitions of Clifton and Johnson bumped him out of the top six.

If the playoffs are riding on the retention of a 7th defenseman then I’m not sure it’s a realistic expectation.

When was the last time we worried so much about the loss of a 7th defenseman?

While it’s reassuring to see the rule of law come to bear on those who would destroy our constitution, this is another sad chapter for our country; made even sadder by the list of cowards in the republican party who would rather ignore the magnitude of what those bastards tried to perpetrate against the United States and simply let Trump and Co. go unpunished. Hey Lindsay, the issue was resolved at the ballot box. In 2020. Your man lost and then tried to disenfranchise 81 million voters by conspiring to illegally overturn the election. Hey clueless Cruz, the only reason no other president in history has been indicted on criminal charges, is because no other president has conducted himself this way. Ever. The idea that we wouldn’t prosecute Trump and delay justice just because he’s running for a nomination, is anathema to our rule of law. And every single one of these hypocrites would gladly do the same to any democrat in the same position. Weaponized DOJ my ass. Like I suspected, there are at least a couple I’d put Thompson ahead of, but I’m sure that’s just my intolerable and biased optimistic outlook on the matter.

Haven’t seen the list, but I’m guessing there are at least a couple in the top 10 I’d rank him higher than.

I don’t believe that at all, but building is a never ending process and the future arrives before you know it.

The decade after that is gonna matter a whole lot when they’re in the midst of it.
