It’s maddening to see top line forwards excelling in the A only to be saddled with non-playmakers on a 4th line when called up. You just aren’t gonna get a true picture of the potential.

Potential injuries to Benson have far less to do with his age and size than it does with his style of play. Players who always press the action like he does are putting themselves in more situations to get hurt, regardless of size. He gets hurt less than an older big guy like Greenway does, that’s for sure.

Agree on Krebs. And Malenstyn has been solid as well in his role. Kozak makes that a quintessential NHL 4th line imo.

Agree with all of this. As for Levi, while I don’t blame his camp if they did indeed request a trade, I don’t have a problem with how the Sabres are developing him, with the exception that they initially rushed him to the bigs. Since then, he’s on a good track. I’m struck by the similarities between he and Ryan Miller’s development curve with the Amerks. I think the job is Levi’s for good next year. That said and while I previously thought that they would keep him in the A this season unless disaster struck the Sabres, I won’t be surprised in the least if they bring him up sooner. He’s been too good to ignore in the A since last season.

When it comes to our goalie situation, I don’t pretend at all. If Lyon was a legit starter in this league, he’d have been one a while ago. We currently have two 25 game backups and a career minor leaguer at the position. Ain’t no pretending when it comes to that hapless scenario; only delusions of grandeur for the hopeless.

It’s not that I don’t like him, it’s that he is not the answer for a starter between the pipes and I’ve grown weary of the delusional idea by both KA and fans that he somehow is and/or could be. All because of one twenty game stretch a couple seasons ago that he hasn’t come close to replicating either before or since. We saw the same when he was with the Amerks.

Great, Oopie back between the pipes. Lucky us. He will backstop a shutout tonight and then all his defenders will serenade all his detractors like me and shout, “See!” As if any and all criticism of UPL isn’t justified. Shutout or not, he is not now nor will he ever be a number one goalie in the show. He is a 25 game per year back up at best. At. Best.

I believe UPL and Georgiev are short timers in this organization and I’m surprised Georgiev hasn’t been let go already. Perhaps they wanna see another strong start or two from Leinonen before waiving him. It will be interesting to see if he gets the nod tomorrow night in Laval. I think the plan for Levi is just to let him continue to cook in the A this season, regardless.

Levi stops 33 of 34 and the Amerks win 2-1 at Laval in the first of a back to back with the Rocket.

Dahlin needs to sit until he gets his head straight. He’s been less than good most of the season.

True, he may not be ready for the show, but he didn’t embarrass himself while he was here, either. You can see the talent is there. Let him cook in the A. I’d have liked to have seen Helenius replace Kozak for a look-see, but I fully understand why they decided not to.

That was fantastic to see the Jays take two of three in Chavez Ravine. What poetic justice it would be to see them chase Yamamoto and wrap it up in Toronto in game six.

My major concern going in was which team could chase the other’s starter and get to each other’s weak bullpen. I’m shocked but not surprised that the Jays have done just that with the exception of Yamamoto. If they chase Snell again tonight, I like their chances to win one of two back home.
