Levi with a 26 save shutout in a 4-0 win over the Monsters. Östlund with a pair. The kid has been on a bit of a heater lately.

Does the WaPost still track his lies and misleading statements like they did in his first term? Probably not as I doubt Bezos would allow it since he’s become such a wimp. But in his first four years, Cheeto Man averaged over 21 lies or misleading statements a day. A DAY! He may be the biggest liar in the history of the world. Lucky us.

So true. They’ve had some great QBs over the years for sure.
-
To further this line of thinking, the world is littered with great QBs on poor teams with bad supporting casts who never won much of anything, let alone the whole enchilada.

He can change the schedule all he wants, but that won’t prevent doctors and other medical providers from following decades long best practices and going right ahead with recommending and administering the critical vaccines vital to public health. Unless, like other medical procedures, the radical right makes them illegal as well. RFK Jr. is a lying, hypocritical, addle-brained piece of scum and I can see him advocating to do just that.

Confirmation bias is one thing, but when combined with cognitive dissonance it can be downright dangerous.

All depends on which truth and what words. I mean we live in a world where, according to far right ideology, there are “alternative facts.” Here’s an uncomfortable truth for Putin and his lackey Trump; Ukraine won’t need to depend on the USA to help defend itself as every other European NATO country is already making plans to do so.
-
Yep, he’s got nothing but yes men and sycophants surrounding him. But while it would be nice if someone in his cabinet could help to rein him in, a president’s cabinet is not a check on the executive office which is why we need Congress and the courts to rediscover their morality, grow a pair, and take their oaths seriously.
-
That’s a fair point.

Another big difference is that, unlike in Afghanistan where much of the populace saw us as invaders, the vast majority of Ukrainian people would see us as liberators. But I have a hunch other NATO countries won’t wait on us, especially those four that share a border with Ukraine. Like I said before Europeans, especially Eastern Europeans, know their history well. And our military advisers, along with those of other countries have, been in Ukraine since before Russia invaded.
-
Poland has been spending more than the NATO minimums of their GDP on their military for several years now and in 2025, they’re expected to spend 5%. They are a people, like every Eastern European country, that remembers quite well their history of Russian tanks rolling across their homeland. Poland won’t wait for Russia to march across Ukraine on its way to their borders. They will not hesitate to go on the offensive at the first sign of more Russian aggression. And for good reason. And the Western Europe won’t hesitate to invoke Article 5 of the treaty. Russia is a shadow of its former self as a military after years of Putin and the oligarchs he controls having bled their treasury for the last 25 years. Question is, is Putin too much of an megalomaniac to recognize it.

I don’t think anyone who voted for the orange man is a fascist and traitor. Far from it. But I do think anyone who voted for the orange man did vote for a fascist and traitor. Can you see the difference? I know all about the cess pool that is the PPP forum over at TBD. Whether you’re a Trump supporter or not, it seems from your plentiful posts on the subject that you’re a fan of the work DOGE is doing. If that’s wrong, then I’m wrong but you are not my enemy, regardless.
-
Not a fan of how they’re doing it? I find that hard to believe when you post unsubstantiated report after unsubstantiated report you can find. Everyone is in favor of uncovering waste and fraud, but that is nothing new in the least, especially to those in these organizations who’ve been monitoring these programs since their inception. Where was Trump’s great concern about this when he was elected the first time? What’s all of a sudden different this time around? Those are rhetorical questions btw, as we all know what’s different this time around.

The ultra rich have been trying to undo the New Deal since FDR signed it into law. They spent years during the booming economies and the rise of the middle class that New Deal programs helped spawn plotting how to accomplish that. They needed to divide and conquer the electorate that benefits from these programs and that meant control over the media, from the air waves to the presses. The first step in that was the repeal of the Fairness Doctrine and media ownership laws in the 80s, but the advent of social media put them over the top in their efforts as the very oligarchs who know nothing of patriotism and loyalty to the Constitution own those outlets and what dis and mis information flows thru them. They’ve accomplished their goal of convincing the masses that our government, the government OF, BY, and FOR THE PEOPLE, is the enemy. This is the darkest moment in our history as a democracy. Shame on us.

So far everything, EVERYTHING, DOGE has “reported” and what their Congressional lackeys have trumpeted about SS has been wrong, if not a flat out lie.
-
I didn’t say it was “good”, I said I appreciated it for what it was; a tip of the hat and a show of respect for an iconic performer who is a part of the SNL fabric. You viewed it thru a strictly binary, good or bad lens. Lack of objectivity often prevents us from seeing the bigger picture. It happens. Do you understand what the word means in this context? If you saw the original Sinead O’Connor performance that got her banned and ostracized for tearing up the pope’s picture, then it should be readily apparent as to why SNL chose to have that song performed. What SNL was saying is up to Lorne Michaels and others to explain definitively, but I saw it as a huge apology and admittance that they got it wrong 30 some odd years ago.
-
I give him full credit for even having the courage to get out there in the first place. Same with Simon. Their appearances were solely for nostalgia’s sake as both had made multiple appearances on SNL and were part of its fabric. It’s unfortunate you lack the objectivity to appreciate the performance for what it was. The Sinead O’Connor song was another nod to SNL history as Sinead had the most controversial performance ever when she tore up the pope’s picture on live, national TV. She was ostracized and took a major hit for it, but she persevered throughout. And she ended up being 100% correct about the countless child abuses around the world by members of the catholic clergy.

Regarding the DOGE Social Security “findings” they are full of crap as they have little understanding of the data programs they’re supposedly “analyzing.” And I doubt the SS system is the only one they lack sufficient knowledge of in order to make informed analyses. https://apple.news/AnhDth1ThT0Kgd6Pjgs6c8w

Yeah, his voice sounded every bit of his 82 years, but it made no difference to my ability to enjoy it and his instrumentals were great. We’re lucky he’s still able to get out there because he is in the autumn of life and who knows how many revolutions he has left. Back on topic, if Thursday is half as good a game as Saturday’s was, we are in for a helluva hockey treat.

Right, our deal was with Kuwait, not Hussein. Glad we cleared that up. But that is nothing like what Trump is attempting to do with Zelensky and Ukraine. We never, EVER asked for a percentage of Kuwait oil production in exchange for our military personnel to go there and guard it and besides, it was the Brits who first got into what would later become an independent Kuwait and developed the oil industry there over 100 years ago. Other than what Kuwait exports to the US under long time current trade agreements, there was never a deal for their oil as a quid pro quo for anything else. Kuwait agreed to let us stay there post Desert Storm as part of the Defense Cooperation Agreement of 1991 after the coalition liberated Kuwait. Again, totally unlike what Trump is suggesting in Ukraine.
-
I’ll have to do more research, but that doesn’t sound right. In all the books and articles I’ve read over the years as well as all the contemporaneous news of the day, I never saw any mention of the US having made an oil deal with Hussein to keep him from invading Kuwait. I’m sure Charles Krauthammer and George Will, who I read religiously back in the day, would have written columns about it, too. And Hussein did invade Kuwait. The only deals I can recall between the US and Iraq relate to our giving them arms and military expertise as we backed them in their war with Iran during the Reagan administration.

64, eh. So tell me, did she still need you, did she still feed you when you turned 64?

When was the last time an administration did anything even remotely similar?
