  1. A$$holes are optional? He may surprise.
  2. Nuremberg. See it. Crowe is a shoe-in for the Oscar. Malek and Woodhall may well be nominated as well and Shannon was no slouch. I love John Slattery, but he is too often Roger Sterling in his movies.
  3. I don’t know what his values and priorities are. All I know is that the professed love of his life is thousands of miles away and recently underwent an emergency heart transplant in France and he felt compelled to be with her. It may be easy for him to walk away from the money, who knows? We are in no position to project our value system onto him and his fiancee. Sweden’s socialized health care has nothing to do with it given where the surgery was performed and where her medical team resides. But Sweden is a heck of a lot closer to France than Buffalo is, that’s for sure.
  4. I might take it a step further and suggest that if his fiancee and future wife must stay in Sweden to be nearer to her medical team and precluded from joining Dahlin in the US as a result, then Dahlin may choose to simply stay there, too. Tough situation for everyone involved.
  5. It’s not up to me to explain why McConkey wasn’t a scheme fit or not in the opinion of the Bills braintrust. I merely pointed out at it IS a consideration for every team in the league. Yes, the Bills needed to replace Diggs but, AT THE TIME, McConkey was projected to be a slot receiver, where he spent the vast majority of his time his first two seasons BTW. We already HAD enough slot guys. You don’t replace Diggs, who wasn’t a slot receiver, with a projected slot receiver. It’s great that McConkey has shown he can also operate out wide, but there were concerns about that with the return of Keenan Allen this year. Wish we had him, too, but Beane and Co. don’t have the benefit of our 20/20 hindsight. And for the record, nothing about my position in discussion this has ANYTHING to do with Coleman. I can say he leaves a lot to be desired while at the same time explaining why the Bills had legitimate reasons to bypass other receivers in that draft at the time. They are two distinct issues in my mind.
  6. An excerpt from Jim Kubiak’s weekly BN critique of the previous game confirms what I’ve been seeing from Josh as well. For as much as we complain nobody is getting open, he often isn’t throwing to them when they are. Something has just seemed off for a while now. He appears a half step slower and his fastball is lacking as well. Almost like he doesn’t trust his arm to make medium range throws with the necessary zip. I suspect he’s nursing an injury of some sort.
  7. Are you saying scheme fit isn’t an important consideration when drafting players? Whether we like it or not, it plays a role in every draft for every team. I’m not saying BPA isn’t important because it certainly is. But when player rankings are as close as they are, especially late in the first round as they were in the ‘23 draft, scheme fit plays a role whether we agree or not. Anyway, I will agree to disagree as there is no point in continuing to re-litigate a draft in hindsight.
  8. Scheme fit is not a small consideration when drafting players.
  9. Nobody is above criticism, not even the best players. But dumb or not, I hope Josh never loses his desire to give that extra effort in trying to make a play. Same with Cook.
  10. The fumbles sucked, but I can’t get angry when they’re the result of extra effort by the player fighting for every extra yard. Pretty sure it’s Chad.
  11. With the state of our injured roster, I will not be surprised to see another 13 game losing streak as we are already at three and counting. Hate to say that, but this team has a tendency to feel sorry for itself vs. galvanizing and playing even harder for each other in times of adversity. Hope like hell I’m wrong.
  12. The lamenting of Worthy started the day of the draft, long before that playoff game. And just to be clear, my post is not an endorsement of Coleman in any way, shape, or form. I merely point out that for all the complaining, they have nearly identical stats since entering the league and that our offense has been better than KC’s since that draft, anyway. I just don’t understand missing a player we never had. Especially an under-sized, off ball receiver who is limited as a result. But yay, he runs fast.
  13. If one takes a look at their career stats, one would see that Coleman and Worthy are nearly identical. Sure, Worthy has 22 more receptions but for only 8 more yards, while Coleman averages 4 yards more per catch. And they both have 7 TDs. This idea that Worthy would have been so much better for us is a short-sighted take at best. And AGAIN, as an undersized off ball receiver, he is LIMITED. There is just so much more to it than running fast in shorts. And it’s worth pointing out, that for all the teeth gnashing over Worthy, our offense has been better than KC’s since he entered the league. Why anyone spends a second lamenting the fact that Worthy isn’t a Bill is beyond me.
  14. Here comes the feeling sorry for themselves. Typical.
  15. That was entirely on Kesselring not being able to catch a pass from Byram.
  16. Hope is always present, but this team has found ways to feel sorry for itself for years and Adams loves himself built-in excuses. Hope I’m wrong, but I expect this team to fold like cheap tents in the face of adversity as they have for years now.
  17. I was mocking Pegula and being sarcastic, but you raise an important point here. Unless it’s actually one of those younger guys, I don’t think they have that maniacal vocal leader. Tage and Tuch are too used to being passengers on this team and have been since arriving. This team has needed a boombox throwing, get in your face after a loss or lazy practice leader since Drury.
  18. The answer is in the room, gentlemen. In. The. Room.
  19. He’s very consistent. Once in a blue moon he has a stinker like all goalies have, but he’s a steady force between the pipes. The four gosls against last night look bad at first glance, but he had zero chance on two of them and he made a bunch of key saves to keep them at four.
  20. Imo, let Levi continue to cook in the A unless injury disasters necessitate a call-up.
  21. Well, two of them are currently up with the Sabres. That said, Helenius and Metsa look very good. I’m surprised at what they’re getting from Kuntar so far and Novikov is a steady force on the back end. Levi has been stellar, his last couple games notwithstanding. The Amerks as a whole are a grittier bunch.
  22. Sabres always seem to be the perfect cure for whatever is ailing a crap team.
  23. Ruff must have read my post from yesterday urging him to pair Thompson with Rosen and Östlund. Nice.
  24. I agree about breaking up the Tuch, McCloud, Doan line. It borders on stupid. I’d rather see Östlund centering Tage and Rosen. They should have been seeing the ice in the OT last night. If they look overwhelmed (and I doubt they will) then mix up the lines again.
  25. He looked very good against the Monsters in Cleveland last week; better than anything I’ve seen from Georgiev. If they’re not gonna bring up Ratzlaff they should waive Georgiev and let Leinonen remain as backup to Levi. Then again, he isn’t gonna get enough starts with the Amerks to best serve his development, either.
