Official :WHL Trade Matt Savoie is being traded to MooseJaw
K-9 replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
He’s got 24 points in the 11 games he’s played with Wanatchee, so that might be an indication how he’s doing without Benson so far. -
“Eschew you, pal.”

And may the fleas of a thousand camels infest their armpits.

Always nice to see Vegas get thumped.

Sucks for Savoie. Kid can’t seem to stay healthy.

Seth Appert will coach the Sabres Tonight due to Granato Illness

Given the disaster we are currently, how would we be able to tell? -
I agree entirely that they have the cap space, assets, and the actual desire to swing a deal or two. And we’d all like to see them get some guys in who can help turn it around. What they don’t have is control over trade scenarios involving players who may refuse to come here. My only point is that it is a limiting factor for GMs in the league. Both in terms of players they want to bring in and/or players they want to move.
-
I didn’t say nobody wants to come, but since an average of six players on every team has some kind of no trade restriction in their contract, the odds are that a targeted player will have that clause. The better question is, of the 206 players around the league with a NTC, how many of them don’t have Buffalo on their list? Would you wanna play for Buffalo if you had a choice?

This will be the start of an epic run and Seth Appert will Wally Pipp Donnie G. -
Not a cop out, not an excuse; just a very real limiting factor in potential trades. Entering this season, 203 players had trade-limiting clauses in their contracts, an average of six per team. And I’d bet that most of those players are the better players on their teams. So while not every player has such a clause, it’s fair to say the ones worth targeting, the ones that could potentially help a team the most, would need to waive that clause and approve the trade. Agree entirely that the GM needs to make the team attractive to players around the league. Ironically, being able to acquire good players in trades would help that process.

How many possibilities are there for a GM when the players targeted to acquire in a trade all have Buffalo listed in their NTC?

LMAO! Coffee all over the keyboard, but the belly laugh was worth it.

What does Owen Power do well? Hmm. He disappoints you?

The Sabres weren’t in a position to let him go anywhere. He was a free agent and chose to leave. -
I can appreciate this idea, but perhaps other players on the team should have made it harder for him to make it as well.

If Benson is heartbroken about missing the U20 Worlds, he can always go next year.

Any word on Aaron Huglen, University of Minnesota?

I’d like to believe that, but how many times have we been there this season? We’ve seen them be engaged physically and mentally in several games and against the best teams in the league to boot only to see them screw the pooch in following games(s). I appreciate the offensive explosion as much as anyone, but we are woefully deficient on the back end and Levi is showing his own struggles with consistency as well. I refuse to believe they will turn a corner until they actually turn a corner.
