Rookie of the Month in January. Something to build on. GO SABRES!!!
-
I like the trade. Hodgson gives us a more promising rookie at a greater position of need. I believe he was Rookie of the Month this year? Anyway he wasn't gonna get the ice time in Vancouver that he'll get in Buffalo. And it's probably a good deal for Vancouver, too. GO SABRES!!!

I suspect there is a lot of validity to your post. All three of them also suffered multiple concussions. Not only does it take less force to cause one after the first one, but the effects are or can be that much worse and the recovery time (absence of symptoms) takes longer. Add the fact that these guys are highly motivated professional athletes that have other highly motivated professional athletes seeking to take their jobs and you have a recipe for rushing back. I'm glad the NHL will not allow a player to come back unless that full battery of tests is passed. GO SABRES!!!

I think you make a great point here. The cumulative toll of multiple concussions is just now beginning to be understood. Knowing that it will take less force to cause one the next time and that the risks for sustaining additional concussions is exponential after suffering the first one, would be reason enough for me to hang 'em up. I don't mean to overstate it, but these injuries can literally be life-altering. I hope Hecht and others like him get out before any more damage is done. GO SABRES!!!

I think you nailed it here. The "Lucic Incident" goes so much farther than that game or even this season. I suspect it confirmed some long-held beliefs they had about each other but never discussed. I also think the OP makes a good point about how Miller and Enroth feel about it as well. GO SABRES!!!

This had me laughing out loud. Personally, I think all they need is a collective warm bubble bath while sipping their favorite cup of Irish mocha mint and then curling up with their favorite Harlequin romance novel. GO SABRES!!!

Parroty. GO SABRES!!!

Hey chz, are you trying to change the mojo again? IIRC that's why you reverted to your original pic a couple weeks ago. I'm just not sure the Connelly mojo will bring it. At least it hasn't yet from these other nuk-nuks. Regardless, you are of great help around here. Especially at trade/FA times. Keep the info coming, please. GO SABRES!!!

Undermining George Edwards the entire time. Instructing his ILBs to sabotage certain plays. Just biding his time. That Stache is a crafty one. GO BILLS!!!

^This. It may sound simplistic, but motivation is a personal choice. It's just not a coach's job to constantly have to motivate his players. That's not to say that coaches don't lose teams due to being tuned out, etc. That happens and maybe it's happening with Lindy. But a player's motivation MUST come from within or it won't come at all. I think Prince Nonchalant simply doesn't care enough about being a hockey player. Let alone a good one. Oh, he may well bust a nut or two for a while for a new coach but players like him will usually revert to form. It's a shame, too. Clearly talented, clearly capable. Clearly just doesn't give a crap. GO SABRES!!!

Actually, the question is who the Bills consider a franchise QB. To be honest, I haven't seen enough of any of the top names to make an informed decision. From what little I have seen, RG3 seems to float Gailey's boat the most. Anyway, I just wanted to make it clear that Fitz's contract in no way hamstrings the Bills from looking for another QB. GO BILLS!!!
-
I doubt they'd be able to get into a position to draft a franchise QB but there is nothing to preclude them from drafting a QB if they were. GO BILLS!!!

On behalf of everyone from Team Sunshine, Team Kool-aid, Team Rose Color, and Team Smoke Up Our A$$, I'd like to wish everyone from Team Storm Cloud, Team Apathy, Team Sanctimonius, and Team Parade Pee the merriest Christmas and best wishes for the happiest and healthiest of a New Year. And the same for anyone not on a team. Just figured those would just about cover it around here. Have a cool yule, everybody! Peace!
-
Are you suggesting I'm a troll because I call The Stormcloud whiners on occasion? Like I and many others have been doing since Scott started this thing back in '96? When The Stormcloud calls me Kool-aid drinker are they trolling as well? Is chz a troll when she suggests someone will have reason to "bitch" for another couple years? Directly calling into question someone's bona fides as a fan by saying he is apathetic about the team is furthering interesting conversation? Only Team Kool-aid is incapable of understanding an opposing view? Is Team Stormcloud just misunderstood because their message is just too complex? That seems to be your message here. Welcome to the league, Team Sanctimonious. GO SABRES!!!
-
And yet your years of piling up the whining posts would seem to prove me right as well. Unless you honestly think that your positive posts outnumber your negative posts? I suppose there's something to be said for being a storm cloud with an occasional silver lining though. It ain't all bad even it is most of the time. GO SABRES!!!

chz, I missed this earlier. Too funny for words. GO SABRES!!! LOL! Guilty as charged. That's what happens when I get lazy with the language sometimes. Certainly didn't mean to inject any political overtones here. Anyway, one who would want to make wholesale changes and blow up the team due to the performance of the team up to this point, would be having a knee-jerk reaction. GO SABRES!!!
-
You know, that' true. What would The Stormcloud do with a Stanley Cup winner? Nothing. The more I read about how much the Sabres suck, the more I'm convinced they want, no need, the Sabres to suck. It fills a void or something. Sad, really. Apathy indeed. GO SABRES!!!
-
Well, there's the fact that if everything is blown up then it would be another several year wait, AT BEST, before they win the cup. Not to mention no playoffs this year. Unless he thinks that replacing the coaches and roster means getting all playoff caliber coaches and players in return. Changes? Yes. Meaningful changes? Indeed. I'd consider moving two assistant Cs as meaningful. Wholesale, blow it up changes? Only for knee-jerk reactionaries. GO SABRES!!!
-
Ah, I see. The Sabres control their own destiny. GO SABRES!!!

I disagree. Your shadow boasts Sabre colors. I now have shadow envy. Thanks. Any more complexes and I'll be right up there with Pegula. GO SABRES!!!

Gotta love Liger and his gang of millenial misfits. Starting revolutions and changing the world one byte at a time (as long as the facebook servers don't crash). I miss him already. GO SABRES!!!

Can't get him the ball? 87 catches for 1,000+ and 10 TDs last season. 54 catches, 600+ yards and 5 TDs with five games to go this season. Not too shabby. It ain't Montana/Rice or Brady/Welker but it's production. GO SABRES!!!

Why would Chan need to make an excuse for a kicker that flubbed a regular kickoff but not for when a kicker flubs a squib attempt? Squibs are routine kicks and are practiced all the time during 'teams' drills. If you need to believe he flubbed a regular kickoff attempt be my guest. But all the evidence suggests otherwise. From the game situation to Chan's explanation in the post game pc, to the spot on the ball he kicked. Heck everyone I watched the game with predicted a squib as well. It was the percentage play to make at the time. I've never seen and I doubt Chan has either, a squib attempt hit the middle up man on the return team. But it's the Bills and weird sh*t happens. GO SABRES!!!

I wouldn't say Kentucky is a small college program as they play in the SEC, the best conference in the game. That said, your point is well-taken and I couldn't agree more. I don't think SJ is going anywhere. He's too good a battery mate to Fitz and he would leave a hole on a team with too many holes already. I look for them to sign an FA veteran WR to compliment him. GO SABRES!!!
-
It was a designed squib all the way. Chan explained why he called for the squib in his pc after the game. Long and short of it was you don't want to give the league leading return team 15 yards of extra field to set up a good return. Coaches do this all the time. It's not a bad call, especially when kicking off from the 20. As to the kick itself, Rayner Shine hit the ball where he was supposed to, on the middle of the football. And he was supposed to kick it very hard, like he did. The problem was he didn't aim correctly. Squibs are designed to be kicked very hard to a gap in the return setup and handled by blockers but he hit the up man square in the nuts instead. He may have slipped a tad on his approach but he hit the ball like it was supposed to be hit, just not WHERE it's supposed to be hit. GO SABRES!!!
