  1. Nicely put. And your last sentence brought back some long forgotten memories... GO SABRES!!! And te
  2. Seems like everyone gets well against us, doesn't it? I'll be pleasantly surprised if they don't. GO SABRES!!!
  3. I'd just like to praise SFINS's praise. GO SABRES!!!

    How bad is it?

I voted, "I just don't give a phuck any more." Apparently, I am a year behind some players on this team in adopting that stance. I can tolerate losing as I accept it as a part of the game. But I can't tolerate lack of heart. Ironically, when you are struggling and things aren't coming easy on the ice, you have to show more of it, not less. But these guys show less and less each night it seems. Wake me when this team shows they give a phuck and perhaps I will, too. GO SABRES!!!

    Waive Hecht

GREAT perspective. Much appreciated. GO SABRES!!!
  6. I was merely pointing out the opposite to DeLuca's take. And I agree, this debate is about as pointless as it gets. GO SABRES!!!
  7. Hope the people in the front row are prepared for that. GO SABRES!!!
  8. Got that right. Not even Darcy has time for Darcy-like pussyfooting. GO SABRES!!!
  9. That cuts both ways. New coach comes in and serves notice. Anybody that has a problem with that and doesn't respond accordingly should be let go. And good riddance. GO SABRES!!!
  10. And as Hodgson gets older and more consistent the appreciation over this trade will increase in Sabre Nation. GO SABRES!!!
  11. It's called hockey character. You are either willing to make the sacrifices necessary to be the best player you can be or not; both on the ice and in the training room and film room in season and during the off season. In short, you have to be a professional. There isn't a coach or team captain alive that can infuse that into another player. You either have that desire or you don't. It' as obvious we don't have enough players that possess that trait each and every night. GO SABRES!!!
  12. Yes. The Canucks have 90% more points than the Sabres because Kassian plays on the third line. GO SABRES!!!
  13. Thanks for posting that link. It was the first chance I've had to watch the PC and I can only echo the thoughts regarding Lindy's class. His point about coaches being successful because of the players that play for them is poignant. During his two cup runs he had players that would skate through a brick wall for him. That doesn't come from the coach. It comes from the "hockey character" that a player either has or not. Unfortunately, there is very little of that on the team as currently constructed. And that has manifested on too many occasions to count. I wish Rolston all the luck in the world. But what's holding this team back simply can't be rectified with Xs and Os and pep talks. The only solution is to get the right kind of players. And that's gonna take a while to accomplish. In the meantime, I have no problem getting rid of those players that lack the character necessary and replacing them with lesser talented players that do. GO SABRES!!!
  14. Hard to argue with that assessment. Just another euphemism for "no heart." GO SABRES!!!
  15. I'll second that. There is not a coach in the world that is gonna make chicken salad out of this chicken schit of a roster. I feel sorry for Rolston already. GO SABRES!!!
  16. Not enough skill. Simple as that. I miss Connolly watching this group of AHLers. GO SABRES!!!
  17. And there's the late 3rd period penalty you just KNEW was coming just to kill any momentum for a comeback. Hardest Sabre team to watch since their inception. Utterly inept in nearly every phase. Rolston doesn't have a chance with these losers. GO SABRES!!!
  18. Sometimes you have to accept the inevitable conclusion: we are just not that skilled a team. And that is magnified when the lack of talent plays lazy. GO SABRES!!!
  19. Terrible work on the PK in our own end. Pommers with a lazy clearing attempt. GO SABRES!!!
  20. Good point. I saw a ton of the same confusion deep in our D end as I've been seeing all season. Miller with some huge saves to keep it close. Likewise Scrivens. GO SABRES!!!
  21. Ask Lucic. GO SABRES!!!
  22. Ott must be rubbing off on Kaleta some. GO SABRES!!!
  23. Yeah, the Garnish must have been glaringly taking those "rest breaks" during shifts that Rolston saw on the tapes. GO SABRES!!!
  24. Vanek stays. Cornerstone of the franchise. GO SABRES!!!
  25. Excellent post. The Sabres have steadily been re-tooling for a couple seasons now. We are extremely young at the most critical offensive position. This transition will take time. But, like the Bills in the early 90s, there's great chance for them to all grow up and mature together while the rest of the team is still relatively young enough to go through the process and still have somethin left. GO SABRES!!!
