That’s why I responded to @Hank’s post with a laugh emoji. The idea that “the poisoning of Americans from illegally smuggled drugs stops now” is beyond absurd.

DOGE quietly trying to cover that tracks of crap: https://www.forbes.com/sites/shaharziv/2025/02/25/doge-removes-biggest-spending-cuts-from-wall-of-receipts-heres-what-it-could-mean-for-doge-dividend-checks/

His first impeachment was related to Ukraine, but the withholding of the aid committed by Congress was only a part of it. In a nutshell, he tried to bribe Ukraine in exchange for false stories about Biden. If you have the time or inclination, it’s all in the link below, but it’s a slog imo. https://www.congress.gov/116/bills/hres755/BILLS-116hres755enr.pdf

In the absence of a qualified, professional medical diagnosis then yes, it is mis/disinformation based on nothing more than conjecture. Just as the many psychological diagnoses of Trump are by people trying to make political points. But people need to have their biases confirmed and they need to glom onto any opinion for sources that supports them. As a result, any honest debate on various subjects is rendered impossible. People point to Biden’s dismal debate performance as evidence of cognitive impairment but that’s been debunked as we learned he was actually ill at the time and a short time later tested positive for covid and underwent treatment. People should acquaint themselves with the difference between the natural slowing of thought processes as we age vs. cognitive impairment. While certainly slower than he once was, Biden is still not impaired.

Yes, news should be vetted by us as I said. Just as this article by the AP was vetted by the reporters. You won’t find a far right article to contradict it anyway. Unless they go to the government source who provided the information to AP and they literally change the facts, which are a matter of public record. And we couldn’t disagree more on the rest of your take. Good idea to move on. But not every article by a reputable news source, confirmed by at least two sources btw, that we find uncomfortable to read because it isn’t favorable to a particular point of view is an editorial position. AP and other organizations owe it to the public they serve to report facts, especially when false information has been put out there as we’ve seen with DOGE time and time and time again.

Trump continues to lie about the amount of assistance we gave to Ukraine as he keeps insisting that it’s $350b when it’s not even close to that. https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/fact-checking-trumps-claims-amount-us-aid-ukraine/story?id=119167409

Crap goaltending there. -
About all that “winning continues” from Karoline Leavitt above, did she circle back later today and report that Trump “lost” three time in 90 minutes as three different federal judges ruled against him in three different cases. Nothing spells “winner” like 3 losses in 90 minutes, right Karoline? I wonder if she knows how to spell S-H-I-L-L.

The AP didn’t make up the facts in that story, so this idea that it was some sort of retribution hit piece is absurd. The AP has been the beacon of journalism since it’s inception nearly 180 years ago. It isn’t just some sensational rag with an axe to grind and the article I linked was not an editorial. Brace yourself, because as this goes on, there will be other reports from credible sources like this one, that will paint DOGE in an unfavorable light by exposing their disinformation.

Facts are facts, regardless.

It is beyond obvious that Murray is a career AHLer. For all his bigness and net front presence, he isn’t a dominant player even at the A level. Better for the Sabres to bring up a prospect that has actual NHL hopes because they’ve seen everything Murray is and then some.

I’ll bet that 40% is gonna be a low number before these hacks are done. What a crackerjack team of post-pubescents. https://apnews.com/article/doge-federal-contracts-canceled-musk-trump-cuts-a65976a725412934ad686389889db0df#:~:text=produce no savings-,Nearly 40% of contracts canceled by Musk's DOGE,expected to produce no savings&text=Nearly 40% of the federal, the administration's own data shows

Biden was never diagnosed by a doctor that said he had diminished capacity. Indeed, the opposite of that is true. But since you can't prove a negative, it's fair game to conjecture all day long, which is what Fox and other right wing outlets do much of the time. I respect not wanting to debate the issue as it's already been well baked.

Sad day for America.

I find these comparisons between Fox and MSNBC/CNN amusing. They are alike in that they both have strong editorial leanings to one side of the political spectrum over the other and they report news in their actual news segments, which aren’t offered much during their 24 hour cycles. The rest of the programming day on their networks is hour long “hosted” shows with commentary from the hosts and various guests, usually in support of their editorial leanings. But only one “news” network outright lies and deliberately deals in mis/disinformation, and conspiracies. Furthermore, only one of them consistently fails to report and comment on stories to their audiences that aren’t favorable to their political leanings.

A very good family friend for years, whom we actually consider part of the family, was sent the Musk email and was immediately advised by her supervisors NOT to respond. She is a lawyer for the Navy whose job it is to review Naval contracts with both current and potential contractors for various equipment, systems, etc., most of which is classified. Apparently, a huge number of the email’s recipients also deal with classified information and have been told not to respond as well. Just when you think gruppenfuhrer Musk and his team of young turks really can’t be that stupid, they come along and top themselves. Not an easy thing to do, that.

It should come as no surprise that Sky News Australia is very pro Trump as they are owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. It’s no coincidence that Sky News Australia has the same rep as Fox News as both trade in lies, misinformation, conspiracies. The several Australian friends and acquaintances I’ve made over the years think it’s a joke and no, they are not Trump supporters. Can’t say if that’s a reflection on Australia as whole or not, but the Labor Party, a center-left party, saw their candidate elected as Prime Minister as well as their party regain majority control in the parliament in their ‘22 election so that may be indicative of where their populace is politically.

Any investment in American workers is awesome. The point is though, that this is nothing new on Apple’s part. It’s the same announcement as four years ago. Unless one is to believe that it’s two different announcements and that Apple as committed nearly ONE TRILLION DOLLARS, over half their cash reserves, for two different ventures in the US in four years. Trump, just like Biden four years ago, had nothing to do with it. And Trump is full of crap that tariffs had anything to do with intimidating Apple because they are not about to start manufacturing their most popular products domestically. They’ve benefited from dirt cheap labor in dozens of countries for years, which has been the key to their enormous bottom line for years now. That rings a bell.

Apple made a nearly identical announcement four years ago.

So, if I understand gruppenfuhrer Musk correctly, Boeing’s inability to make a reliable space craft means “political reasons.” Right.

I see he added a goal of his own as well. Östlund with another two apples to stay hot on the stat sheet. And Rosen with three helpers as well.

I’ve said it before but it bears repeating after this move by Trump and that is will military leadership do their duty to the Constitution and fulfill their obligation to countermand illegal orders, especially if it should mean refusing to target US citizens. Now I’m sure I’ll be accused of overreacting and I hope that’s proved right eventually, but we won’t know until we know for sure. Trump himself doesn’t care about his oath as he runs roughshod over the Constitution, so why wouldn’t he demand the same in his military leadership. FFS, some in the military were OK with Michael Flynn’s idea to seize voting machines in 2020. I don’t think my concern is unjustified at this stage.

General Kellogg is an actual adult in the room who actually understands the situation. It’s beyond baffling how much his comments differed from Trump’s ignorant, buffoonish remarks the last several days; a complete 180 in fact. There may be hope after all.

I’m shocked to hear of this debunking. Shocked I tell you!
