I have no complaints whatsoever. Bishop is gonna be a day one starter imo. I’m shocked Troy Franklin wasn’t taken by anyone in the 2nd.

Could only catch the 3rd and all I can say is I’m glad Levi is on our side. Thought Östlund looked good, too. But the Amerks once again showed their season long propensity to have problems in their own end. Duffer made the point that one of the reasons the Amerks win so many one goal games is because they don’t score empty net goals. Their play in the D zone, especially the inability to win key faceoffs consistently, are the biggest reasons for that imo.

I wouldn’t be that upset, but I’m thinking it’s gonna be Troy Franklin. Somebody over on the TBD site posted a bunch of advanced analytic stats and Franklin is elite in these areas. Up there with the top three in this draft. But Beane is hard to read at times, so who knows. I suspect he has a bunch of prospects with the same grade, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he trades down again.

The position requires more than speed which we’ve seen too many times to count and all three of them are seriously lacking in those other traits, so I’ll need to actually see them become this unstoppable force before I’m willing to anoint them. I’m more worried about KC’s defense which was the key for them last season.

I suppose there is a chance SF would have taken him, but Worthy is not a Shanahan WR type so I doubt it. And it doesn’t matter about the other picks involved as the swapped 7ths are a wash and the 3rd we got for one of our 4ths is obviously better for us because Beane can use that to get a third pick in round two, which I fully expect him to do.

No doubt Reid can scheme like nobody else, but KC’s track record with drafted WRs is a mixed bag at best. The only elite attribute Worthy possesses is speed and that certainly has to be respected, but he is not quick off the line of scrimmage, isn’t a good route runner, doesn’t have great hands, and his frame certainly leaves a lot to be desired and he’s gonna have issues with getting off press coverage as a result. He’s got boom or bust written all over him. And KC was gonna draft him at 32, anyway. Glad we got a third round pick to possibly use as a chip to acquire another pick in the 2nd tonight.

This is the point the whining little children on WGR keep missing. KC was gonna get Worthy, anyway. It sucks the trade was with KC, but in the final analysis, it really doesn’t matter.

If Beane was telling the truth when he said he didn’t have first round grades on 28 players (for what it’s worth, Joe Schoen said he only had 11 players with 1st round grades), then he is gonna find very good value on day 2. And I have a hunch he’s gonna acquire a third 2nd round pick as well. Who was the draft pundit who predicted we would trade down for Carolina’s pick at 33 and then select McConkey? Hmm. Worthy has boom or bust written all over him imo, and I’m glad we didn’t select him, but it sucks we made that deal with KC.

I wouldn’t draft Malik Nabers just because of the bling he’s wearing around his neck.

Might want to review all the game videos because Benson won far more puck battles than he lost this season. He knows how to leverage his stature against bigger opponents and he did that routinely along the boards, the few times he was knocked on his butt notwithstanding.

They need to sign Lindgren asap because the thought of not being able to see his mom in the stands is a sad one.

Ruff’s biggest impact will be made on the practice ice. The old saying says you play like you practice and my add on to that is you practice like you’re coached. Lindy will make quick work of cutting the wheat from the chaff.

Agree entirely. Having watched nearly every Amerks game this season and being thoroughly impressed with Kulich and Rosen much if the time, it is still painfully obvious they just aren’t ready for the show at this time.

He’s certainly not bad, but I just don’t feel he ever became that #1 guy on the #1 pair.
