  1. Good luck in your continued recovery, Robin.
  2. It’s a F ing joke for crissakes! It wasn’t directed at you or anyone else in the least. I think you’re just angling for an argument, but I’m not gonna indulge you. Have a good evening.
  3. The thread has become a needed repository for general opinions regarding the Eichel situation more than it is about any specific trade scenarios at the moment and I don’t see that as a negative, necessarily. Perhaps a thread title change would help?
  4. And yet when players exercise their right to go elsewhere for more money, some will insist on blaming Adams, anyway. If it were strictly a matter of a few more bucks for Linus, then I have to question how committed he was to ever staying in the first place. I imagine his mindset was like others of his time here and he really wanted to leave, anyway. I always liked Linus, Risto, and Reinhart and I thank them for their time here, but they wanted fresh starts and nobody can blame them for that given the lack of success while they were here. But like it or not, they were part of that lack of success and imo it was time to move on, regardless.
  5. Yeah, but Adams has “full authority” over the situation!😀
  6. I vote sink or swim. I’m not sold that every young player needs development in the A. Peterka strikes me as the kind who is up for the challenge.
  7. Well, if it’s true that he’s got Skinner to dedicate himself to getting better in practice, then yes, I’ll go out on a limb and say he’s the best since Lindy. It’s a low bar to be sure, but I like how he seems to conduct himself as a coach.
  8. No, I don’t want to argue. Not at all. I fully get where you’re coming from. Let me put it this way, how authoritative is authority if it can’t be freely exercised by one who holds it? KA has to defer to medical experts and legal experts before he can even begin to think of using that authority. So great, KA has the authority. But it is feckless authority. Lets just let this go, ok?
  9. And yet, he can’t do that. For reasons often outlined in this forum. Round and round we go. Best just to move on.
  10. I understand what you’re saying, but I’m looking at it from a strictly practical viewpoint. IMO, one cannot say a person has full authority to do something and then proceed to give reasons why he can’t. Adams doesn’t have final say as he keeps deferring to the medical professionals that do.
  11. Adams has deferred to the medical advice put forth by team doctors nearly every time he’s been asked about the impasse.
  12. Well, that makes total sense since very, very little of this situation is KA’s to handle in the first place. As I’ve repeated numerous times, he doesn’t have the authority to overrule the medical course recommended by team doctors. Maybe Jack could consult with Kris Letang about the ACDF surgery to allay his concerns a bit. Letang seems to have recovered quite nicely after his surgery.
  13. That is not an insignificant factor in all this. As I mentioned previously, the constrictive nature of the CBA has played a role throughout. Another aspect totally out of KA’s hands I might add.
  14. You listed several ifs as well. I just added one more. Adams’s hands are tied. He simply does not have the authority to overrule the team doctors. It would help if more people, especially in the hockey media world tried to understand that as well. If Jack had agreed to the ACDF surgery after the 12 week rehab period didn’t work, he’d be halfway into his recovery by now and on target for a December return to the ice. Ah, what could have been.
  15. Or, “If I wait long enough, Jack will get an agreed upon surgery of some type, the rehab goes well and he’s cleared to play, Jack returns to form, and teams will line up to make legitimate offers for a player of his caliber. I got time.”
  16. I’d be surprised if Columbus doesn’t ice a mostly different team tonight, just like the Sabres will in their next preseason game.
  17. I’d submit that, aside from any trade discussions with other teams, this entire situation has been out of KA’s hands almost entirely. He is just not in a position to overrule team doctors and their best medical advice.
  18. Thanks again for the added insight here. Unlike some around here, I don’t assume KA screwed the pooch because he may have said no to a team that was willing to assume the risk of the ADR procedure and make a deal. What’s the nature of that risk assumption in real terms? What’s the nature of that potential trade structure in real terms? Has Russo or anyone expanded on those aspects? Great, the Wild are interested. But that, in and of itself, means little.
  19. Thanks for the clarification. Yeah, it’s pretty well known that KA was making inquiries. Nice of Pegula to actually let his GM act like, you know, a GM. It’s a shame it couldn’t get done before Eichel got hurt. Let’s hope Pegula learned his lesson.
  20. Are you being serious? Because if you are, then you simply haven’t been paying attention. You may want to revisit the John Vogel tweet from late July that included an expansive on the record statement from Fish. There’s Dr. Prusmack’s statements on the matter as well. But you already know all that. Have a good evening.
  21. And yet nobody from the Wild is wiling to go on record even though “it’s Jack Eichel.” Not questioning Russo so much, I just need more to be convinced there’s legs to this story.
  22. Wait, what? KA had a deal for Eichel in place and Pegula nixed it? First I’ve heard this. Wow. KA has even more of my sympathy now.
  23. What are these plentiful signs you see? Do you have anything concrete, other than your intense dislike for team management and unsubstantiated op/eds from the hockey media? Do you have the requisite medical knowledge or sources that indicate the Sabres medical opinion is flawed? Because that’s all I’ve ever hear KA cite; the medical recommendation from team doctors that Eichel disagrees with.
