  1. It’s not so much he wants them to fail as it is saying they already have and will continue to do so. Personally, I’m always a bit leery of fans so heavily invested in negative outcomes.
  2. I don’t think the Sabres need to dignify anything Brisson says publicly with a response, but that’s been the team’s stance the whole time it seems to me. Maybe it’s time for Lehner to get involved.😄
  3. Apologies for the confusion, so I’ll try to explain. When Brisson says that Jack is a “depleted” asset and a lesser deal is all that’s feasible, imo that is trying to establish the market. At the very least, it’s market manipulation. It’s interesting that Eichel and Britton think so little of their product, too. Of course they don’t really and I assume both are anticipating a return to full health and superstardom. Not saying you or anyone here is saying this, but KA is out of line for believing the same thing? I don’t buy that.
  4. True, but what’s a couple more months in the grand scheme of things. Point is, it’s a helluva lot more complicated for the Sabres than simply saying, “Well, if they only would have allowed Eichel to have his ADR back in the spring like he wanted.”
  5. I agree entirely. But again, why do Eichel and Brisson get to determine the market?
  6. Same could be said about the fusion if Jack would have done that in the spring as well. He’d be on track for a December return.
  7. Why do Eichel/Brisson get to determine what the Sabres need to “understand” about what kind of deal can be made? KA can just as easily turn that logic back on them. A lesser deal has been there since day one, even before Eichel hired Brisson in the first place. Sounds more like Jack has once again reached his max level of patience and, like before with Fish, is having his agent conduct a propaganda campaign thru the media. As evidenced by the bs piece by Vogl, again, just like in the summer with Fish. The only thing I can think of that would prevent KA from continuing to be patient is that the Pegulas just don’t want to pay $10m for a player to sit out the year and would force him to make a lesser deal just to remove Jack from their books. But they would have paid him as an injured player needing to sit out the year anyway if bad blood didn’t exist, so it can’t be just about the money.
  8. Can Vogl be any more obvious in his bias against the Sabres organization with that first sentence? What an absolute joke he is as a reporter; a disgrace to the profession.
  9. I suspect that after the initially prescribed rest, the disc did not reabsorb as much as they would like to see and surgery of some sort is now in order. The fusion is usually a six month recovery, the disc replacement a three month recovery. If Jack had the fusion as prescribed when his 12 week rest period was over in June he would be four months into his recovery and on schedule for his desired Olympics, so it’s a shame he missed that window. So now the window for the Olympics becomes the three month for recovery from the disc replacement procedure, but time is of the essence. Regardless, I think KA can remain patient here. It’s not like Jack would be the first player to miss an entire season due to injury. But it sounds like he’s putting pressure on his agent to get him traded. KA should ignore that completely. Jack’s impatience and his agent’s inability to broker the proper deal is not his problem.
  10. That pressure has to be coming from only one direction, right?
  11. It’s what makes communist China and socialist Europe work as well.
  12. Well, in order to fit Brisson’s timeline of the Olympics then yeah, ADR is the only way to go according to the medical experts. If willing trade partners are willing to put faith in a positive outcome, then KA should, too, and there is no reason for Eichel to be sold at less than full value to those teams. It makes no sense to me for a team to say we will give you 80% of what you’re asking because we think Eichel will only return to 80% of his former self. Nope, teams are trading for a full Eichel and the Sabres should deal based on that premise. Just my opinion.
  13. No deal. Brisson said it himself, Eichel is a depleted asset at the moment. There is plenty of time for his value to be reestablished and that’s when you should sell. If there’s even one iota of doubt that Eichel will regain his elite form, then what the hell are we talking about?
  14. Thank you. Someone needs to explain this to the idiot Mike Stephens.
  15. Laugh. It’s the better alternative. Not sure about the relative endorphin release though. But there’s beer for that.
  16. I didn’t notice that. I just noticed him getting dispossessed at his own net. Again.
  17. That entire D zone sequence was Dahlin’s fault.
  18. Would any player not support this? I find it ironic that his first comments in the media a few years ago about his battle with depression and alcohol abuse were full of praise for how well the Sabres administration, medical staff, and the rest of the Sabres community treated him and how concerned they were for his well being as a person. That’s why I find this complete 180 insincere and agenda driven.
  19. He’s been trying for years to bring about this change? It was only after years of his pleas being ignored that he had to go the Twitter route and make his position known publicly? Give me a fricken break, Lehner. Get a clue and take it up with your union.
  20. Guess I better watch how I parse my language moving forward then.
