  1. Expect the hard work to be the norm. There will be nights when they don’t have their legs and be sluggish, but the effort will be there.
  2. Who is out there that’s so demonstrably better that will radically improve our situation in goal?
  3. When it’s time to move on, it’s time to move in. Simple as that. All the other crap just leads up to that time.
  4. So far, over 1.66 games, I don’t dislike the Tage at C experiment at all.
  5. It really is as simple as that when ya get down to it.
  6. Skinner, a goal scorer who can’t score goals.
  7. Oh, I’m sure Eichel was totally onboard and aware. I misunderstood your original post and thought something came out on Friday.
  8. How many passes in a row can you have tipped by the opponent? Sloppy boys, sloppy.
  9. I think the Yotes watched more of their own video vs. Columbus and resolved not to get embarrassed again. Great shift by Okposo, Girgs amd, dare I say, Eakin?
  10. I can’t find any letter from Eichel in that link, only the July 30 tweet from Vogl quoting Fish. Am I missing something in there?
  11. I must have missed that. Are you referring to the John Vogl hatchet piece quoting Fish after KA said the Sabres were in control of the situation?
  12. Not saying you do. Only saying that what embodies the character types you want on your team are the same. There is no differentiation between “football” character and “hockey” character. I only referenced the former given the context of @PromoTheRobot’s mentioning of McBeane possibly sharing ideas with KA across PSE company lines. Team building is lacking for some teams in all sports at various times. It’s an art. And the better teams are better at it.
  13. I wouldn’t be surprised by that, either. And I suspect KA would be open to that kind of collaboration, too. There’s an art to team building. I’ve spoken for years about what Marv used to call “football character” and see no reason why the same philosophy doesn’t apply to “hockey character.” Talented players are essential to winning, but it takes a certain kind of talented player.
  14. I want to be wrong about Butcher. I need to be wrong about Butcher.
  15. Brian Gionta has alluded to that on several occasions as well. He did a podcast in the summer where he also implied that certain guys were class one A holes in how they treated people in the building and that you can tell about character from observing that. He thinks KA has had years to observe that as well.
  16. Almost seems like an indictment against previous teams.
