Best part about that scenario was the story Granato told about watching Oiler video with Cozens, asking Cozens if he’d be up for that challenge, and observing Cozens’s body language as he answered. I like that about Cozens; he wants the difficult assignments, wants to be on the ice to close out games. Want to is a huge attribute imo. And it can’t be taught.

Must be some sort of disconnect then.

Is the bigger surprise that they tried to find something or that something was found? Do “right leaning” publications have the same kind of obligation to their consumers?
-
They call it 20/20 hindsight for a reason.

Thinking of Tee Martin solely in terms of his position with the Ravens is a tad short sighted.
-
On the surface it looks like a Rooney Rule requirement, but Tee Martin is gonna be an OC in the league at some point soon, regardless.
-
What if he’s doing a handstand?

I care about his well being as a person and hope he returns to full health asap. As far as caring about him as a hockey player, I don’t ever want to see him in a Sabres uniform again. He should go to the A where he can carve out a lengthy, if not legendary career as a minor leaguer. He’s just not an NHL talent. No shame in that.

@Taro T, just so know, I talk like that as well. I was just getting a dig on @Eleven who busted my chops for using the phrase “rue the day.” Like a lawyer has any standing when it comes to how language is used.😂
-
It's the Dunleavy effect. He's the worst play by play guy in history. Regardless of sport.
-
Bit them in the bippy? Who talks like that?😂
-
The entire league passed on him? Now every team shall rue the day.
-
Murray spending assets to accelerate the rebuild was not the problem. The problem was the specific players he spent those assets on and the damage those players inflicted both on and off the ice, in and out of the locker room.
-
We will rue the day.

Right and so my question remains: what #1 or #2 goalies are available for a mediocre price? I doubt any #1 goalies are and I’m not convinced that UPL isn’t a decent number 2 given how he was trending before getting hurt.
-
My point is that paying a mediocre price usually fetches a mediocre talent and we already have enough mediocrity on the roster. KA’s inability to land a replacement for Ullmark aside, the problem with our goaltending more than anything this year has been having to go six deep at the position. That’s an anomaly of the first order and is impossible to predict.

Yep. Took a hard shot off his leg on the PK, too. I’m guessing that was it.

Hill does a helluva lot more than run in straight lines very fast. Don’t get me wrong, I’d love Metcalf for what else he brings, but he’s just not the same kind of versatile receiver that Hill is.

What quality of player, goaltender or otherwise, do you reasonably expect to obtain in a trade without high draft picks?
-
I could only get half way thru. Not because of Eichel so much as Weidman. I think he’s a total tool. I’m convinced Eichel pissed off one or both of the Pegulas at some point and I suspect it was when he first demanded to be traded before the 2020/2021 COVID shortened season and made it readily apparent he wasn’t interested in being part of the solution here, even after they tried getting him some better surrounding players I’d be pissed at him, too, after giving him his big contract, making him the face of the franchise, and then being told thanks but no thanks. I’ll just say good luck to Eichel and leave it at that. I gotta kick out of his reference to Dr. Cappuccino as “a well respected person in the field.” That might be the understatement of all time seeing as he was a pioneer of the procedure, has performed more of them than anyone on the planet, and travels the world teaching the technique to neurosurgeons all around the globe. After hearing Eichel, I’m now certain that the Pegulas made it clear to Dr. Cappuccino that ADR was never gonna be an option and that’s why he changed his tune. And that’s regrettable on many levels.
