Of course they aren’t good enough and so that’s why I wonder: are they aware that they aren’t good enough? I wonder if sooner or later that self realization begins to set in as they’re continually exposed to the reality in practice and games day after day after day. Just a thought. -

No. I mean they know they aren’t very good, they aren’t part of the plan moving forward, and that their play reflects a “what’s the use” kind of acquiescence. I don’t think it’s a conscious thing though. -

Anyone else think that the jag placeholders are acutely aware they’re jag placeholders and that awareness shows in their play on the ice? -
Up until his first two games in the Olympics, I’ve only seen Power in the Michigan highlights posted here and his brief appearance in the World Juniors. Everything I’ve heard about how well he moves seems to be true and he plays with a poise that belies his young age.
-
Any idea how many games he’s played for his new team?

I’d give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

And perpetuate and propagate a big lie. You don’t have to be a Nazi to be a fascist, but Goebbels would be so proud of the tactics.

The mighty paddle of Ethron continues to smite!

I didn’t hear that radio conversation, but in that podcast with his brother last summer, Gionta wasn’t alluding to Eichel, but rather other players that our young corp at the time gravitated towards vs the leadership example provided by him and Gorges.
-
Certainly wasn’t any doubt when he was at LSU with Joe Burrow.
-
I got into this convo late, so tell me, what point are you trying to make with the comparisons between Diggs and Knox?
-
Yeah, he strikes me as that type.
-
Suckitude settling in I’m afraid.
-
Short handed goal.

What does “treating people around the building poorly” say to you? Fill in your own blanks then.
-
Not in so many words. Sorry I can’t provide eyewitness accounts or film footage. But what Gionta alluded to has been echoed by several others, including people I know personally and I take their word for it. Regardless, it’s ancient history, those people are long gone, and decent people have replaced them.
-
Never mind.
-
Diggs also had 161 targets vs 71 for Knox. Stands to reason Diggs would have more drops.
-
Creative writing classes? WTF. I’m just echoing what Gionta and others have implied as well.

The man gets it. It really does take everyone in the building to become a winning organization. From the custodians to the administrative support staff to the trainers to equipment managers to the owners and the players, everybody has a stake. And everyone is worthy of respect from everyone else in the quest to get there. Over the years, that building has been inhabited by a few players that never wanted to be there; by players who actually resented it. And that resentment manifested in a show of disrespect towards others. You may be a multi million dollar hockey player, but that doesn’t mean you get to treat a cafeteria or parking attendant like crap or snap at a secretary because they took too long accommodating a request. Alex Tuch strikes me as the antithesis of that entitled attitude and one who appreciates his privilege and doesn’t take it for granted. Good on you, Alex Tuch.
