  1. Listening to it now, 30 seconds in and Rivet is ripping Eichel a new one. Interesting to hear how he was muzzled while in the employ of the Sabres.
  2. Per the bold, speak for yourself.
  3. I donā€™t believe for a second that you donā€™t care. People that donā€™t care simply donā€™t respond to so many posts in a thread.
  4. Letā€™s hope. Being mere feet from the ice near the bench, we could see how genuine the affection for Anderson was from the entire team. Especially Tuch, who is the definition of ā€œglue guyā€ as evidenced by the reactions of 22 different personalities to his give and take with them. He literally made it a point to connect with EVERY teammate after the game; even Tokarski. And they all respond to him the same way. Just a great thing to witness.
  5. The officials were the worst group weā€™ve had all season, at least at home. Just terrible.
  6. Which is your right as a fan. Itā€™s a shame that some people want to begrudge you that.
  7. The fans struck a bigger nerve in Eichel and he just couldnā€™t handle it like a grownup.
  8. I attended dozens of games during Eichelā€™s tenure here and heā€™s wrong about that being the loudest. Heā€™s not even close, actually. Ironically, some of the loudest that building ever got was for things he did, like scoring a game winner against the Leafs for instance.
  9. As I said in my post when I got home last night, I didnā€™t boo or cheer because Eichel is just another player on another team at this point. He got a rude welcome back to be sure, but the same fans who booed him also gave a standing ovation during his tribute video. Fans have every right to boo or cheer, regardless. Not sure why you feel the need to call them petulant and stupid for exercising that right. Are you so chaste and pure as the driven snow that youā€™ve never booed at a sporting event? Gimme a break.
  10. I canā€™t speak for anyone else, but scapegoating any one person for the failures of a hockey team is ridiculous. Stupid, actually. But when a player is gonna call out the fans, itā€™s gloves off and he deserves whatever negative response he gets. Iā€™ve been supporting this team long before Jack was a gleam in his daddyā€™s eye and nobody rooted for Eichel and wanted success for him more than I did and for him to throw us under the bus like he did last night was as classless as it gets in my book. Eichel can go F himself.
  11. Howard just took it to another level when he screamed at a fan and hung up on him. He made Schopp look like a nice guy.
  12. The fans never fully embraced Eichel? As a longtime suffering SHT, I find that comment just as insulting as Eichelā€™s. Jackā€™s failures arenā€™t his, but Pegulaā€™s? The excuse train for Eichel and his own shortcomings is vomit inducing.
  13. That tightness was evident during the post game tribute to Anderson. Terrific highlight video that included a congrats from his parents and you could see how touched Anderson was and every one of his teammates stayed out there in the moment. Good stuff to witness up close.
  14. Fun game to be at with probably the largest crowd Iā€™ve seen all season. If not for Anderson, we lose that game. Imo, this was the worst officiating group weā€™ve had in a while. The game was chippy, but they missed numerous calls all night. Eichel got a rude welcome back. I neither cheered him or booed him because heā€™s just another player on another team at this point. I hadnā€™t heard his post game remarks until I got back home, but the same fans that were booing him during the game also gave him a standing ovation during his tribute video, so I find his remarks both insulting and classless. Heā€™s a great talent and heā€™s gonna get his, but heā€™s still a grade A masshole.
  15. Iā€™ve heard it will be like Reinhartā€™s the other night; a brief video montage during a timeout.
  16. Dunleavy and Ray considered a step up? šŸ˜‚ Youā€™re spot on about that tongue bath and it will be insufferable. But not as bad as the stream of misinformation Iā€™m expecting about Eichelā€™s conflict with the team. That has been a one-sided issue in the media from the get go.
  17. Of course the Sabres would be better with Eichel. So would any team. But thatā€™s not the argument.
  18. But the Sabres are not a better team with Eichel than the Golden Knights are with Tuch and Krebs, either.
  19. Any idea why? Did he re-injure whatever it was he injured initially?
  20. With all due respect, your first sentence states you understand but disagree with my point and then you finish the first paragraph by essentially re-stating my very argument. Eichel is the best player in the deal. Hands down. Full stop. Which is what I said in my original post and, again, you go on to make the same point in your second paragraph, so Iā€™m not sure that you disagree there either. Itā€™s in your third paragraph that you actually disagree and thatā€™s fine, but if Tuch and Krebs improve our team by adding to a greater improvement in overall team performance, then Iā€™ll stand by my barometer for measuring which team benefits more from the deal. So, to sum up: Eichel is the best player but he canā€™t improve a cup finals team to a higher degree than Tuch and Krebs can improve the Sabres. Per your last paragraph, when Eichel returns to full form, how will we know if Vegas becomes ā€œmore of a beneficiary of the deal?ā€ How, exactly, will that become readily apparent? By what measure? And I thought the change in text color was a nice touch of flair.šŸ˜„
