  1. The lockout was 2004/2005. In the spring of ‘04, the Sabres were finishing out a season that saw them suck the first half and become the second best team after the all star break.
  2. Well worth staying up for. And Mitts just might get out of my doghouse yet. Maybe.
  3. I should feel happy about a road point, but I don’t for some reason. I feel we should get two.
  4. Agree entirely. Although I’m not sure Olofsson is any better with puck movement, but at least he can shoot. That side of the power is where plays go to die lately.
  5. Krebs is too damn slow moving the puck on the half wall. Gives the D all the time they need to reset, close gaps, and recover.
  6. I’m gonna need copious amounts of hopeium to get me thru tonight. If Miller can just manage to stay standing up on his skates tonight, I’ll consider that an improvement.
  7. Thanks for the info. So then why does the NCAA even bother with a tournament selection show tomorrow if everyone already knows who’s in the tourney?
  8. Have another of whatever it is you’re having. Enjoy.
  9. Where did you see that? The 16 teams won’t be selected until tomorrow. Is Northeastern a sure thing?
  10. Quinn thinks the game at a different level and it’s just so obvious against AHL competition. Looking forward to that same impact in the NHL very soon. Safe to say the Amerks really miss Mule and Fitzgerald on their blue line. They’re a mess defensively.
  11. I don’t know what it is, but it seems like every time I glance at the shot totals, the Amerks are getting doubled and sometimes tripled up by the opponent in every game.
  12. Liked what Tage had to say about the Oilers game in his post game presser tonight. He said when you cheat the game like they did last night, you’re gonna get your ass handed to you. He actually used the phrase, “when you cheat the game.” That’s exactly the kind of awareness great players have. Good on Tage Thompson.
  13. So important after last night’s fiasco. For so many reasons. Learning how to get off the mat is important to a young team especially. I give Granato credit for having them ready.
  14. Good point and one we need to keep perspective on. My angst isn’t so much because they lose, it’s how they look doing it and last night was just an abysmal effort all the way around. They needed that effort tonight for so many reasons, not the least of which is washing the taste of last night out of their mouths.
