Was the starter in ‘75 as well and led them to another division title, but he hurt his shoulder and was never the same. He got more than a handful of starts, but never got enough as it turned out.

Levi doesn’t understand angles and positioning? Geometry is not his friend? He’s one of the most proficient technical goalie prospects in a long while so I have to question what this “scout” is assessing, because he seems to be missing exactly what makes Devon Levi such a promising prospect.

I don’t think he understands how the Islanders feel at all unless of course he knows the Islanders are OK with having their announcers make cheap excuses for their play when they get their butts kicked.

You’re right, it’s a shot at the Islanders. It’s also a shot at the Sabres because it shows a total lack of respect. “Oh, the Isles would have whipped the Sabres if they had taken them seriously and played their best game because the Isles really are the better team.” Seems Anson Carter hasn’t been paying attention since March and has totally forgotten the similar whipping the Sabres put on them in February as well. In both games, the Isles slow D was exposed by our team speed. Would have been more honest for Carter to have admitted that instead.

Some of the crap I read in these parts. Hey Anson Carter, what was the Islanders’ excuse when we spanked their sorry butts 6-3 back in February? Simple fact is, your slow, clumsy D corps was exposed by the superior team speed of the Sabres. Saying a professional hockey team wasn’t prepared to play an inferior opponent is the biggest loser’s lament in pro sports.

Not even close. Marchand is a flat out dirty player. Skinner plays with an edge. Huge difference.

While I don’t believe in the concept of “trap” games, I do believe in rustiness after several days off. We have not looked sharp coming off several days rest on some occasions this season. I won’t be surprised if we look flat coming out of the gate tonight and I think we will need some good net minding until we knock off the rust.

Not much relief knowing he doesn’t suck as much as Dell and Tokarski. Hope he makes a liar out of me, but after watching him play all year, he hasn’t done much to convince me he can be a starter in this league. I expected better than what he’s shown to date.

Yep. That’s the one. I’ve watched nearly all his games this year. He has his moments. So does Dell. And his D certainly doesn’t do him any flavors most nights. But good goalies make the big save more often than not, regardless, and he just doesn’t seem up to the task imo. I’m not pinning any hopes on him being our long awaited goalie messiah.
