Expectations for Dylan Cozens next year (2022-23)?
K-9 replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
Hard for me to predict his offensive output because he wants/demands the D assignment vs. top opposing players and Granato is more than willing to let him do that. -
Quinn broke both of Levi’s ankles, dislocated both of Levi’s knees, and Devon still makes the save. Shades of Hasek to be sure.

I could make an argument that a 4th line player with KO’s intangibles might just serve as the best kind of example and inspiration.

I don’t know. Perhaps we can ask @Buffalonill instead.😄 Lighting glove.

But shouldn’t KA be tending to business instead of watching practice?

Sabres Sign UFA Defenseman Ilya Lyubushkin 2 Years 2.75 Million AAV

Thought he had a very strong series vs the Lighting in the playoffs. Hadn’t seen much of him before then, but I liked what I saw against Tampa. -
What were you the most wrong about regarding a Sabres draft pick?

Eichel, bar none. -
The old stadium footprint is slated to become a parking lot after it’s razed. I don’t think the circle means anything in these drawings.

Uh oh, Lawrence is gonna get conscripted into the Russian army now.
-
From this angle, the walkway and stadium combine to kinda look like the Lombardi trophy. Nice.

That’s what it means to me and several NFL GMs, scouts, and personnel directors I’ve known personally over the years. Granted, I don’t know any NHL talent evaluators personally, but I can’t imagine the concept is too much different. You’re correct in that team needs are always part of the equation and I certainly don’t mean to imply otherwise. It’s a balance and chances are good that a highly ranked player on your board play will match a need at times. But if a team drafts strictly on a need basis, then they will invariably reach for a player when there are better players available. Good players are always a “need” regardless of position.
-
Selecting the BPA means nothing more than taking a higher ranked player at a lesser position of need and it can be a way to describe a draft strategy because it’s an admission that you won’t reach for a need when there are higher ranked players available at other positions. And it’s a good strategy because reaching for need results in poor outcomes far more often than taking the better player.

Report Vegas Golden Knights Have Hired Bruce Cassidy as Head Coach
K-9 replied to Brawndo's topic in The Aud Club
I’m not criticizing Eichel, merely pointing out that he created his own longer delay in returning to the ice. I have no interest in re-litigating the issue. Both parties acted in their own best interests. But it sounds like people are taking shots at the Sabres and their perfectly legal and sensible position when they defend Eichel’s decision to hold out. -

Eichel clearly didn’t have the right to his preferred procedure as the CBA gives that power to the teams instead of the players. And while it’s true that the ADR is a three month recovery vs. the six months for the fusion surgery Eichel, by insisting on having the ADR, delayed his return to the ice by more than a month longer than if he’d gone ahead with the fusion immediately after the rehab stint that failed to improve the condition initially. -
I disagree. If anything, I under estimated TT’s output for next season.
-
TT will threaten the 50 goal mark next season. Sign the man now for as long as you can and laugh when his deal looks like a steal soon after the ink dries.
-
WTF was that ref looking at? He skated over to the net, saw the puck resting inside it, and never gave a good goal signal.
-
True, that. It was a redundant definition about a goalie to be sure. Anyway, I don’t want any part of any player with motivational issues. We’ve seen with our very eyes what that did to our favorite hockey team in years past.
-
Any uncertainty surrounding motivation eliminates him from any consideration imo. Last thing we need is another head case between the pipes.

The melody is the only common element of the two songs. The title, words, and meaning of ‘America (My Country Tis of Thee)’ is an American original and served as one of our national anthems before 1931.
-
The SSB has been co-opted and bastardized since it’s origin and original adoption by the military for ceremonial purposes. I have no problem just going about my business when it’s played in the background. It should remain a military ceremonial song while we adopt a new national anthem. I’ve long thought that ‘America the Beautiful’ would be a good choice or perhaps ‘My Country ‘Tis of Thee’ as both capture the breadth and majesty of our country’s greatness on a much larger scale imo.

Not happy that Tampa won, but I’m glad the Rangers didn’t if that makes any sense.
