I think @PromoTheRobotis merely pointing to an example of the bastardization of words and their meaning in modern culture. Regardless of the literal dictionary definition, words like mediocre have taken on negative connotations over the years. Ignorant is another such word, imo. Words and meanings evolve like everything else.

A reflection off our modern culture that tends to think that unless it’s the best, then it sucks; that if it ain’t first place everything else is last.

Right. And that’s why the Phins are even more full of crap. There is no way possible to observe the series of events after Milano pushed Tua to the ground and make the determination that his loss of gross motor control was not neurologically caused. The Miami team doctor needed to cite an orthopedic reason in order to get him back in the game. It was his job to protect Tua from himself, he failed miserably, and he should have been fired along with the INC. Not surprising given how shady that organization is though.
-
Interesting because the one thing that struck me since he came into the league was how fast of a skater he is.
-
Perhaps this can clear up any confusion as to the incompetency of the Dolphins when he sustained his injury against the Bills. Full stop: once gross motor instability was observed, Tua should not have been allowed to return period. This idea that his gross motor instability was caused by orthopedic reasons vs neurological reasons is total crap. Back injury my ass. https://static.www.nfl.com/image/upload/v1629470683/league/ovinvbctariqolangujz.pdf

All fair points to be sure and totally understandable. But I won’t be surprised if DG deliberately sent them out against top lines just to give them the challenge opportunity. I love their speed, tenacity, and smarts which count for a lot I think. And imo, over the second half of the AHL season last year, Peterka became a defensive force as he figured it out. Color me intrigued.

Nice to have a decent backup anthem singer, too.

Perhaps I’m of the minority opinion, but I’m looking forward to the Cozens line going up against the opponents’ best. That’s a very fast line with two good, responsible D forwards in Cozens and Krebs. And I love how Cozens demanded and was given top D assignments vs other teams last year. We might be selling these guys a bit short here.

Can’t write him off yet just four games into his pro career. But I will say that in every game so far, the moment appears too big for him. Perhaps he just needs to calm down a bit and let the game come to him more.

Thompson, imo. Gets it off so much quicker and creates his own as well. -

Just had a similar thought. Somebody should have given her the hook 10 minutes into ‘O Canada.’ -

Cozens played in the opener vs the Caps, that’s it. So this is his second game. -
Almost as funny as it is classless. I don’t care who you are or who your opponents are, you don’t disrespect them like that. Ever.

Can’t speak for the Miami staff, but the Cincy hospital diagnosed and treated him for a concussion, which McDaniels confirmed in his post game his post game presser last night. As a result of that diagnosis, Tua is officially in the league’s concussion protocol.

As I said to Labatt above, that was a typo. Meant to say 5.5 hours. Bottom line is it’s a helluva lot more convenient and less wearisome to take direct charter flight than ride on a bus all in the same day. -

Typo. Meant to say 5.5 hours. Then again, that’s in a car. A tour bus is gonna take a little longer, anyway. -

Bus ride to Columbus is 5.5 hours. Bus ride from Pitt to Cleveland is 2.5 hours. Not similar in duration at all. A direct, charter flight from Buffalo to Columbus is less than an hour and a half. And pro sports teams aren’t going thru the regular public passenger terminals, either. That’s gonna take a lot less than 7.5 hours as well, all told. -
