  1. Maybe the Sabres asked him to work on specific areas of his game like they did with Reinhart when he went back to juniors and put up less points per game after his nine game stint up here.
  2. Looks like DG took him off both PP units, so it will be more of a challenge. Would love to see it though because I think when he does get untracked he’s gonna explode.
  3. Agree he’s not relied on to blitz very often as he’s very effective in coverage as you pointed out. Totally disagree that he isn’t relied on as a run defender in this scheme. He has certain gap responsibilities on every play, as does everyone else in the front seven.
  4. Damn that Tortorella. He minces words to the point that you just can’t figure out where he’s coming from half the time.
  5. I was intent on not engaging you any more, but since you felt it necessary to call me out, I’m compelled to respond. Per the bold, what an inaccurate crock of crap! I’m certainly among the “most outraged” and I didn’t boo Eichel AT ALL during that game, NOT ONCE. Nor did anyone sitting near me. Indeed, we applauded his tribute video, as did many others in attendance that night. So, in addition to being a full of crap masshole, Eichel has selective hearing as well. Other players who have departed the team after unsuccessful runs have often expressed regret to the fans for not being able to turn things around. Classy. Compare that to Johnny, who did the exact opposite and blamed the loyal fans instead of owning the fact that he and his teammates just weren’t good enough to get the job done. Johnny is fortunate that he was traded to an already great team who has only known winning success since they entered the league because he certainly doesn’t have the right stuff to be a player to build around as he proved here.
  6. Ah yes. Total brain cramp on my part. Thanks for the clarification. Yep. Brain cramp on my part.
  7. Where could Owen Power be sent back to? It’s not like Michigan was an option once OP elected to turn pro. I suppose the AHL is an option but I’m not convinced his developmental needs are better met anywhere but the NHL at this point. EDIT: @LGR4GM Please disregard this post. I brain cramped but got clarification from @Thorny and @Taro T.
  8. I’m with you on Krebs and said pretty much the same thing in the last GDT. I’ve convinced myself it is an experience issue currently. What I like about him, even though those passes are ill advised, is that he sees plays that can be made and attempts to do so. I think the bigger issue in the future will be his line mates who will need to appreciate that and be ready at all times.
  9. You obviously did NOT listen to the entirety of his comments if all you can glean from them is that he had something to say about attendance only. He said much more. You just don’t wanna hear it and I’m done with trying to get you to understand that. Enjoy your Golden Knights fandom. I think we are done here.
  10. I don’t believe that for a second. I get the impression you’ll be watching with bated breath ready to cheer on Eichel and the Knights to victory while chiding any fan who boos him. Seriously, why don’t you ever address his full post game comments? Your failure to do so along with your constant defense of his comments leads me to believe you hold us fans in just as much contempt as he does. Quote
  11. I’m sure Eichel will appreciate those loud throngs of opposing fans cheering for the visiting team. I’m sure it will remind him of Toronto games in Buffalo.😂
  12. You continue to focus on his remark about the attendance, when it’s WHAT HE SAID ABOUT IT BEING THE LOUDEST FANS HAVE EVER BEEN that’s the insult. But you have reasons for needing to overlook that part of his remark, I’m sure. I don’t give two craps what he said about attendance. As a season ticket holder, he can kiss my ass in that regard. When he played here, I showed up for every game, win or lose, and gave my full effort to cause. Eichel certainly didn’t. I also don’t give two craps about Vegas fans, who’ve only ever known winning, filling the building. Let’s see how rabid they are if they ever have to suffer thru more than a decade of losing futility. I’m sure he’s ecstatic having such a dedicated fan defending his classless remark. Enjoy rooting for Jack and the Golden Knights this coming Thursday and in every game they ever play after that.
  13. Forgot a zero in the thousands decimal position. You must be a math teacher.
  14. A 2/100 regression in save percentage? Unacceptable!
  15. Gotta get healthy and stay healthy. But I think it’s telling that teams beat us having to play their best while we were at our worst. The Jets defense, especially. Their back seven played at an elite level yesterday, the best back seven we have seen in a while. I’m going on record to say I don’t think they can do that the next time.
  16. Your take on this is ironic if not completely hypocritical. You’re the first one to criticize and condemn the Pegulas, management, etc., for the drought and their crappy product and yet you see fit to chastise fans for not making more noise while witnessing the crappy product this ownership, management, etc. have put in place? Holy contradiction Batman!
  17. I was at most games Eichel played here. The arena erupted like days of old when he did special things. We wanted to erupt, we needed to erupt and we did. And Eichel knows this. He’s seen it, heard it, and reacted to it himself. Not only was he insulting with his comments, he was LYING when he made them. A masshole of the highest order. Screw him and his classless attack on the great fans of Buffalo. How anyone can defend that is beyond me. To each his own I guess.
  18. It wasn’t his remark about attendance, it was him calling out fans for never making noise while he was here, for him saying that was the loudest they’ve ever been. That was an insult to the entire community and our history as a hockey fan base. To as loyal a fan base as there ever was. To a fan base that has had so little to cheer about for over a decade. This fan base cheered its lungs out whenever Eichel and the boys did something amazing on the ice and he knows it. Too bad those Eichel-led teams never gave us a reason to cheer more often. FFS, he should have apologized instead of choosing to throw us under the bus. When I attended that return game, I was indifferent; didn’t cheer, didn’t boo. But on Thursday I will return the insult and boo myself horse every time he’s on the ice.
  19. That sucked. I hope DG doesn’t confuse effort with results tonight and ease their collective psyches. This was unacceptable and he should let them know that in no uncertain terms. We’ve still got a long way to go in this league.
  20. Giving up late leads to better teams has been a hallmark of our crappy teams for a while now. I think they regressed in that regard tonight.
