He burned a year with the 8 games played in 21-22, then has two more years(22-23, 23-24) on his ELC. That’s 3 years, in addition to the hypothetical 4 year extension. That seems like the 7 accrued years needed for UFA. If I’m wrong, then bring on the 4 year extension! I just saw the needed 40+ in your post. I’ve always thought the burned year on the ELC for college players was a year toward UFA.

A 4 year contract brings him to unrestricted free agency

The difference is the Sabres are total pussies and next, ever have traffic in front of the net. NHL goalies make saves where they see the puck. -
Are the Sabres out of the running for the playoffs?

I’ve read this statement from many posters this year, here and on other boards. I’m always curious as to whether the people posting it are showing up themselves. I’ve been to 6 games this year. It’s been equally divided between a full arena/close to full and 1,000s of empty seats. The cost of going to games as a single man with no kids is high, let alone trying to bring a family of 4. I will say that as the season has progressed, and the Sabres are showing they care, and will put in the effort to win every night, the fans are noticing. I have full faith that this will continue. This team is different, and the word is starting to get out. I can’t *****in wait to be in the arena for the first playoff game this year! -

Exactly where they belong. They are the biggest liabilities on this team -
He was hurt when Dahlin hammered someone that was cutting across the front of the crease into him

He’s turning into everything we could have hoped for. Total stud -
Cannabis tames the inner beast for this guy. Don’t think I’ll ever stop again.

I hate it. -
I absolutely noticed this. He is a different player this year. I still don't want him on the second line.
-
I have been hyper critical of him since the start of training camp this year. Last night he was winning puck battles in the corners, and in front of the net. His assist on Sheray's second goal was an outstanding play. 17 played a better game last night than he did all of last season. The said, he still doesn't belong on the second line.
-
Please don't stop. Everything you are saying, needs to be said. This is one of the worst players in the league.
-
He shouldn't be on the Amerks 2nd line, let alone the Sabres 2nd line. Him starting there has completely sucked any hope out of this season, this coach, and this GM that I may have had. It's infuriating, and incomprehensible that this is actually happening in practice, let alone opening night.

Sergio Leone! Spaghetti Western King. Also directed Once Upon a Time in America. Tremendous stuff. -
This is the same thing I do. Every day

This is spot on. What a mistake that decision was. Dumont was very upset about this as well. He was part of the heart and soul of that '06 run.

Completely agree with this. I think these two are going to compliment each other so well. It's going to be so much fun watching these two young men grow.

I will be heading down the the Arena for today's practice. Very excited to get my first glimpse at Eichel. I was at the rookie scrimmage last year, and will be paying particular attention to Reinhart, and how much he has improved.
-
Saad-Toews-Hossa and Bickell-Richards-Kane were the lines until games 6 and 7, when Kane and Toss a flipped. Saad is an excellent two way complimentary player. One of the best in the league I'd say. Will be extremely difficult and expensive for any team to pull him out of Chicago.

Sabres are winning. Why are prices still so low?

I got tickets directly on center ice, 15 rows up last night for $42 each. It was the third game of the year for me. I go to see the young kids play, and they are delivering. I am hoping to go see Colorado on Sat as well.
