Sorry. I know this isn't the proper forum but I don't want them to go unused. Prime seats cost starts at $70 each and goes down $10 every hour till game time. Must be able to pick up in West Seneca.

I feel like I'm beating this to death but I just don't understand this logic. You have two pieces that almost everyone would agree is are top 6 potential and you have a goaltender that has proven capable of leading the right team far into the playoffs. All of these players have at least 4 to 5 years of prime career left by today's NHLstandards. You want to throw that all away for a flyer on some prospects and picks that may or may not pan out? It would be at least 5 years before your plan would bear any fruit if ever. On the other hand. make a smart move or two and you could be contending next year. Let me be clear, no one is untouchable and I wouldn't rule out trading anyone. But no way I trade Vanek or Pominville for anything but bona fide NHL top 6 players that for some reason or other fit better in the ultimate plan for the next GM. Miller, he I would consider for another NHL goaltender and a top 6 forward or a top 3 defenseman.

If Vanek and Pominville were 32/33 years old it would make sense to consider moving them but they are just entering their primes. If done right this team can be reinvented with one good off season. Trading your two top scorers in their prime would set hhis franchise back 3 or 4 years minimum If Vanek and Pominville were 32/33 years old it would make sense to consider moving them but they are just entering their primes. GAME DISCUSSION THREAD GDT: Buffalo at Toronto (2/21/2013, 7:00pm)

Cause he is a kid who is already in the top 25 in scoring. -
As I said in another thread. Only in Buffalo would trading the league leading scorer at the ripe age of 29 get any serious consideration.

My guess is that there will be a tweak or two but no O'Reilly deal. If Reiger wanted to pull this off it would have been done before Ruff was fired. My belief is that Ruff wanted a player of O'Reilly's make up as one of his top two centers. LR wanted nothing to do with Ennis as a center. Two things that came up in recent conversations both before and after the firing. 1) Lindy talking before Pittsburgh game about going into the season with the three young centers. 2) Darcy specifically mentioning Ennis, Foligno and Stafford as players who needed to play like the second half of last year. No links, no sources just my thoughts. Senior Adviser.

Been here since day one. Remember the Boston beatdown, Houndog Kelly ending the dream and coming home from school and my brother telling about Tim Horton dying. Here's another quiz; Who did the Sabres trade to acquire Roger Crozier?

I will give up my season tickets if this happens!

I appreciate that you are a friend of the family and he would be a great story if he was a late bloomer but the fact remains that he was an unrestricted free agent, desparately looking for a new team in the off season who ended up signing with a team that he knew had little interest in him as anything but their minor league goalie. No one believed he would make it as far as he did but it will be a major upset if he ends up being anything more then what he is, a 28 year old AHL journeyman goaltender He's ,making over a $100K doing what he loves and I'm sure he dreams of more. I for one hope you are right and can some day rub this post in my face.

1) Even with his hot stretch, he is 34th in goals against and a quick scan found at least 10 goalies with a higher save pct. 2) I never bought into the running Miller into the ground argument and especially don't believe that his play will suffer greatly if he has to play every game the rest of the year.
-
No way, no how are they are going to give a borderline AHL goalie a start this year until they are mathematically eliminated or Miller gets hurt.

Ryan O'Reilly - Get Him At All Costs - Who Do You Trade
tom webster replied to CallawaySabres's topic in Archive
Only in Buffalo would someone advocating trading the leading scorer in the league because he is 29 years old as well as your second leading scorer at 30 years old and your goaltender cause he might only have 5 to 8 good years left be taken seriously. Compounding the matter is that nobody outside of Buffalo considers anyone in the sytem a "can't miss prospect" but hey lets just keep starting over again instead of adding to what is already here. -
Wasn't sure if this deserved its own thread, but with 9-19 -4 just as likely as 19-9-4, I figured it deserved star treatment. http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2013/02/18/draft-lottery-odds-to-remain-the-same-but-winner-gets-first-pick/

Martin Hanzal. I think I just gave Drane and Deluca a warm and fuzzy feeling.

Since when is Seguin the standard for player development?
tom webster replied to Aud Fellow's topic in Archive
There is no question he is better at center. Question is whether the team is better when he is at center. There is a reason that Ruff grudgingly moved him there and there is a reason why most of the league's smaller players find themselves on wing in today's NHL.- 23 replies

Dallas v. Boston last year. I think an Islander game as well but can't remember details. Kassian is starting to resemble the player he was in Buffalo. His February totals 6 games 0 goals 2 assists 0 PIM 9 hits (5 in one game) Speaking of team toughness, guess which team is 11th in hits and 5th in blocked shots, two of Deluca's favorite stat's?

Watch Eric Staal treat Ennis like a rag doll on the way to scoring a goal against another overrated fan favorite (Enroth) and you will see why neither player should play on a team with Cup aspirations. Ennis would be a nice 7th forward, filling in when needed or used as a change of pace but he just lacks the compete level and/or ability to play center in today's NHL.

Ennis is a keeper if he can adjust to wing. If all he is is a center, trade him in a heartbeat. You can't win in this league if he is your second or third center except as a change of pace. -
You mean you couldn't see Rick Dudley, Brian Burke, Torts, Sather et al laughing at them? Pegula is the new kid on the block, new money that entered their club. You can bet that they share a laugh every time he does something that goes against the norm. Whether they are right, well only time will tell. Executives are no difference behind closed doors then anyone else. They may put on a professional face and demeanor in public but behind doors, after a couple drinks, the gloves come off. One last thing, you may not like him but Bucky has his share of supporters on the national scene.

I've said before that I'm ready to see Lindy leave and I've never been a Darcy fan but there are a lot of explanations other then the coach for a player not to turn into what everybody thinks they should be. History is full of players that were the next "sure thing" after a great year or two that turned into nothing. As for the "imported" talent, its not like they brought in Wayne Gretzky. Most of them were fringe players. Before the internet it was always said that no one was more popular or better then the back up goalie or number one prospect because those were the only players fans knew besides the regulars on the team. Now with the internet every fan thinks their team is just loaded with prospects guaranteed to be NHL stars and when it doesn't happen, it has to be the coach or the organizations fault.

Game Discussion Thread GDT: Sabres @ Islanders 7:00 pm 2-9-13

I stand corrected, I was thinking that Brennan didn't play last game so they will have to send someone down tomorrow if Regehr in fact plays. Also, Pardy was already sent down Friday -

So did they send down Brennan? If Sekera and Kaletta are both in today for Myers and McCormick and Regehr is supposed to be back tomorrow one player has to be sent down today and one tomorrow, correct? -
Lafontaine was second in scoring that year but played 24 more games then Lemieux

I was not trying to start a pissing match and for the most part enjoy your posts, just letting you know that the people I talk to know that everything is off the record. I also understand that therevis almost never absolutes in this business. Everything is fluid and can change on a dime. People that know me or my record know that I don't toss rumors around lightly. Lastly, by all accounts is my informed opinion.
