I know it's late notice but anyone looking for something to do, there is a comedy show at the Elks Lodge in Niagara Falls featuring Greg Bauch, Dan Fisher and Rick Matthews. Proceeds benefit the Wounded Warriors. Tickets are $10, buffet is $8.00 and drinks are pretty inexpensive. Food starts at 6, show starts at 8:00.

The contract wouldn't take effect till next year and already Stan Bowman is predicting a $75 million cap in 2014/2015.
-
Not sure about the date and if compliance but outs are subject to waivers but if a player is picked up on waivers I would assume the new team would have to honor original contract
-
I guess that is what you said. Sorry, I was in the middle of something earlier and it didn't seem as clear as it does now
-
The big difference is that the team originally trading the player can't sign the player. It was laways understood that the team trading for the player couldn't resign him. What they are stopping is say Tampa trading Vinny to Buffalo so that Buffalo can buy him out and then Tampa can resigning him.
-
It's really another example of how fluid the new CBA is. It's no wonder teams are confused as they seem to make it up as they go
-
Per Larry Brooks, teams will not be allowed to trade players in order to have the other team buy them out and the original team re-sign players at a more cap friendly contract
-
He had a "procedure." No timetable given but he is still re-habbing
-
For the umpteenth tme, they cannot buy Leino out while he is rehabbing and the buy out period only lasts 48 hours after Cup is over.
-
That is exactly what is going on. I said it before, they think their biggest mistake to date was promising too much. They are now in the promise less, deliver more stage of their business.
-
Yes, but they would have traded him to a team that would have made him their third string goalie if they got a better offer. There is a difference between Boston giving Bourque a chance at a Cup and LA going out of their way to accommodate a well paid back up still earning his stripes in the league. I don't know about the offer sheet part, but this makes the most sense. Some respected analyst aren't even sure how much of an upgrade it is.
-
No way they moved him for less then what they could have got just to be nice. Lombardo and Sutter aren't built that way.
-
You don't really mean this, do you?
-
Flyers were one of worst teams in league year prior to him signing there and Montreal just missed playoffs. He didn't want the pressure or the taxes of playing in Montreal at the time. Now that he is older, maybe but I doubt it
-
Montreal offered more then Philly offered originally and he chose Philly.
-
NOt looking to pile on but when I click the rankings tab it comes up with spring rankings dated 4/2/2013.

I'm all for free enterprise and healthy competition but no matter what the business, it's never considered a good idea to rail against the competition, especially not the leader in the field. Build your own site and make it work on its own merit. Just my personal opinion.
-
guess that means 16 goals in first 25 games but I guess a Buffalo fan would dwell on the glass half empty.
-
Where do you get that stat? I hate him personally but 66 points in 68 playoff games with 26 goals including the Cup winning goals and a shorthanded goal in their first run that staved off elimination puts him in pretty elite "clutch playoff" peformer category
-
For all intents and purposes Belichek is the man running the show in New England. His pro personnel guys come and go but he is trhe constant. I'm at work but I'm sure I could think of more.

Buffalo was 19th in hits and 11th in blocked shots. Since they averaged over 25 hits per game I think that means only 4 games to get to the 104. LA averaged around 35 hits per game to finish 2nd to Toronto. The 6 remaining teams finished 2, 9, 10, 22, 29 and 30th in hits. In blocked shots, the 2nd most over hyped stat the remaining 6 teams finished 2, 10, 21, 22, 28 and 30th(LA)

As long as they are allowed to use an amnesty buy out for a player acquired, the there is no cap hit, just cash pay out.
-
Can't argue with that and I must admit that I was surprised when not 1 or 2, but three different people close to the situation told me similar sentiments.
-
I have said it before and I will say it again, contrary to popular opinion, those close to the situation will tell you that his problem is he cares too much, that he is too hard on himself and takes all criticism too personally. That being said, its definitely time for him to move on.

Not sure were you see the half truths so I won't comment on that but you throw your opinion in on Dumont which I will challenge. Darcy chose Kotlik over Dumont when Dumont was developing into the forward with an edge that we had hoped for. He walked away from a deal for Briere that he later admitted to mis-judging the market place. He chose not to negotiate with Vanek even though Nathan Horton set the market(wouldn't want Darcy to ever be so bold as to set the market). These moves were all on him. Who was at fault with regard to 23 and 48 has been discussed ad nauseum and the truth lies somewhere between all the lies and half truths. All this set the team back till now were we are starting all over again with the same guy that continually mis-read the market and now admits to being wrong about the rebuilding plan that he orchestrated over the last 6 or 7 years.
