I’m surprised that so many take into account the cap when thinking about future personnel decisions. Nothing like putting the cart before the horse. Maybe if the Sabres were a perennial deep playoff team and we had to figure out who to keep and who to let go, but, c’mon, they still suck. I just don’t think it plays even a little bit into their decision making yet. Can we, at least, wait until they are good to talk about them like they actually are good? It’s not like they’re going to run up against the cap any time soon. I think actual salary matters more right now.

How were the Bruins screwed by the refs? I completely disagreed with your take on that goalie interference call last game, btw. The refs didn't call lots of stuff on both teams. This series is the definition of "letting them play."

Because bruins. Remember when a Canuck got suspended for the rest of the SC series for a hit much less bad than that. NHL officiating is some of the most biased in professional sports.

Absolutely. Kevyn is trying with what he’s been given. And in that case, we are screwed. Of course we could get lucky. But luck and hope are not sound GM strategies. I truly hope that next year is the year that changes my policy of not giving the Sabres any of my money.

It actually shows how much more the Sabres sucked. And spending doesn’t guarantee that you will win, but not spending shows that you aren’t even trying.

And while I agree about how how ridiculous the last 13 years were I don’t care about them. I care about what we’re being sold for next year.

We are still being sold the same “we shouldn’t mortgage our future for short term success” bullsh!t we were sold over 13 years ago. There is no future! I chose option 2 in the poll, with the caveat that a major change could be one or several of the current future core (Did I really just type that,… ***** this team) significantly changes who they are as hockey player(s), because as of right now, i don’t think they have what it takes to compete deep into the playoffs, if they ever manage to even get there. And I don’t want to ever hear from a GM “once you get to the playoffs, anything can happen.” No it can’t. That’s for fans to hope, not a GM’s strategy. Good lord.
