There's just no place on the Sabres for a true 2C.

Since we’re being pedantic, it’s he and his brother. -

Getting ready: are players in town working out yet?

I've been wanting to do one of those. That one in particular. How was that cruise? Was it worth it? -
I always found the Chautauqua Institution kinda weird, even the name. That’s all I got.

I predict that there will soon be a whole bunch of new laws regarding these things.

I've been reading a lot and I love it. I barely even watch TV anymore. I'm currently reading H.G. Wells' The War of the Worlds. There's a reason it's still around. I have to keep reminding myself just how long ago it was written. Just got done with The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. I really liked it. Played with parallel universes and alternate realities. Also just got done with We Walk by Amy Lutz. It's about her dealings in the world of profound autism and the ridiculous world of the internet and the garbage that people spew. (My wife and I are kinda gearing up to fend off idiots who are going to push back for her book.) The book that really got me back into reading was The Metaliad. An epic poem by William Burger. He wrote in it ottava rima (every stanza has a rhyme scheme of ABABABCC.) It's crazy that he could pull this off, because the story is about the metal scene in Brooklyn and how it was being taken over by Racists and gentrification. My next read is going to be the Three Body Problem trilogy.

Totally agree. … and very.

(Off-season) What’s your favorite Sabrespace meme?

I found these two responses quite timely and ironic. Because my leg is fkd up from falling off my E-bike, I had to drive my full size F150 to work, where a BMW did indeed almost rear end me and then rip past me at I’m guessing 70MPH on a 40MPH limit road. I’ve never had a worse bruise than what I have now. Plus it f’n hurts. At least the X-rays were negative.

Wiped out on my bike heading home from work yesterday. Lots of pain. Nothing broken, just a huge bruise and some missing skin. I was being super cautious and still eat it. PSA: If you are using an E-bike and there is even the slightest bit of moisture whatsoever on the road, turn the peddle assist as low as it goes or even off when turning.

Wow.

I’m not worried about the Savioe trade. Terry right next to Adams the whole video was weird,… maybe even a little unsettling. I bet that video (and maybe the team) would look and feel much different if TP wasn’t always hovering over KA.

Oh, thank god.

I truly hope that is correct, but if he’s better than the guy “in front of him,” he should play. Period. Even if it’s at wing. If he makes the team better, he should play.

Jack Quinn, what is your expectation for his 2024 season?

Sounds a lot like my Covid right now. -
Donald J Trump, your thoughts on his Presidency
SwampD replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Oval Office (Politics)'s Topics
All they need to do is bring back pork. Congress needs to get back to making laws and earmarks made that happen. With the winner take all we have now, there is no reason to compromise. Seemed like a good idea at the time, but who knew that it was pork that was keeping this country going. This era of presidential decree is awful. -

This country is going to be so much better off once he is finally gone from the political landscape. Hopefully the Constitution will still be a thing at that time. His ability to bring out the worst in everybody is absolutely amazing. -
Totally agree. I’m happier at home with a pretty decent case of Covid than I would be if I were at work dealing with the whims of arrogant idiots. Pssst, those are not people. They are chat bots.

I wish there was a way to turn that damn thing off. My light has been on for over 10 years and the bells go off every time I start the truck ever since I rotated the tires the first time. Now, all the batteries in the sensors are dead and it’s like $250 per tire to replace them. Screw that. The air gauge I bought was 10 bucks.

What?!?!?!!! You get 20k out of pads?!! Pro tip. Learn to do your own brakes. It’s a relatively simple job with pretty basic tools. Takes about a hour. Use the money you saved on something fun.

If I didn’t have Covid and was running a fever, this excessive heat warning would really be a bummer. As it is, it’s kinda nice.

This brought back to mind the most memorable concert I have ever seen at Artpark. It was a jazz super group. Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, Jack DeJohnette, and Pat Metheny, all of whom I had been listening to for years on their own. I want to say the opener was Spiro Jira, but I can’t remember for sure. It might have been Gamalon. We had lawn seats and were doing what you do on lawn seats at jazz shows in the summer, so, feelin good. There was a weather front whose line went east-west and was moving directly east-west. After an initial downpour, I think it sprinkled twice. During the show, if you laid your head back in the grass and looked to the south, it was a crystal clear starry sky. Then, looking north to the stage, there was a raging lightening storm with the show going on at the bottom, but we stayed dry. If that wasn’t enough, during one of the tunes, the setting sun broke through the clouds, underneath the lightening storm. If only there were iPhones in 1990… Oh yeah, the band was pretty amazing, as well. I know Artpark has that side stage now, but do they still hold concerts in the main building?
