Man, the Sabres were much better than the impression I got from reading this thread. I watched a much different team than was described here. I never saw a team that looked “like ass”, or gassed or terrible along the boards. Of course there were times they got hemmed in, but that happens every game to every team. I’m really enjoying the type of hockey they are playing right now and it’s not surprising that they are winning because of it. It’s some of the best in close hockey we’ve seen from a Sabres team in a very long time. It’s awesome. I so prefer it the back and forth, lose the puck, bag skates that doesn’t win in the playoffs. I really hope that they are winning in spite of Tage being out and not because of it.

Some of those hits last night, while clean, technically, were on the fuzzy edge. Gudas could have been called for charging, maybe even and elbow. The fights said, we’re not going to take it if it goes any further. It didn’t a they won. Everyone fighting chose to fight. If they get a TBI (a tad dramatic), that’s on them.

I often agree with this. Not last night. You might be able to make a case for the first fight, but that second hit needed to be addressed. The Ducks were starting to take liberties and I don’t think they would have if Greenway and Thompson were playing. And, I’m not sure it changed how the Ducks were playing.
