I wanted to revisit this because I was at work and couldn’t respond in full. LGR, I hope you didn’t think my question about Jack was snark. If you think that Power turning his feet will open up different dimensions of the game for him, then why wouldn’t the same be true for Jack. Thorny said people overlook Jack’s gliding because he has elite speed, but I just don’t think it matters. There are different styles of skating and there is no one style that is better, if it works for the player. It’s just what it is.

I don’t think it’s amiss. I read somewhere else that the death for 2020 was just about on par with every other year. What I can’t stand is when some people then use that fact to bark about Covid being overblown and not that big of a deal. But I don’t see how they are comparable, since one happened under a complete lockdown. We don’t have the “luxury” of seeing what the death rate would have been in a non lockdown control group, I mean, unless you look at the tristate area pre lockdown. I believe we would have seen mass graves.

For the record, my father and sister both died during the pandemic. Nowhere does it say they died of Covid, blowing your bs theory out of the water (a theory that was debunked over a year ago.) That’s rich, my “individual anecdote.” I’m talking about the largest hospital in one of the most the most populated counties in the country. Don’t get me wrong, that flu was bad. It’s not even in the same ballpark as this. The weren’t building temporary annexes in parking lots and using mobile morgues for the flu. You've shown your true colors by being completely full of sh!t. No. It’s just the reporting.

This shows nothing. I was in an ER that year for another reason. There were beds in the hallway. It was really bad. The same hospital for this built 8 more ICUs (from 4 to 12) and the entire hospital went to Covid only. To imply that the only difference is news coverage is moronic, or it’s agenda driven crap.

I was focused more on the horrible working conditions that people are trying to downplay, than the use of the word hero. And then I have to read this garbage -

I’ve been getting posts like this from my niece, who is an icu nurse, during the entire pandemic. I know that the media gets dumped on for a lot of bs reasons, but if there was a failure by them, it was in telling this story. The right has treated our health care workers as poorly as the left treated returning Vietnam vets. And there will probably be just as much PTSD to deal with.

The drunker I get, the more pissed off I am that I could not see and hug my daughter on her 17th birthday. It’s brutal and sad enough when I get to see her. It’s even worse when I don’t. Get ***** vaccinated!

Welp, just found out that one of my daughter's DSPs tested positive. Second person in her unit. We were supposed to drive down to see her tomorrow with her 81 year old grandma for her 17th birthday. Not sure what we're going to do now. Fehk!
