I was just wondering this myself. I have always said that hate for hate’s sake is fine in sports, cuz it doesn’t mean anything. It just bugs me in this case. I think it’s because i feel it is misplaced. As you know, I never thought the Tank was the answer. So hating the guy who (I felt) was put in a no win situation just feels ugly to me. I’ll stop. Hate away. It’s what makes sports great, after all.

We have one more win than them. Of course, the 3 OT/SO losses make it look much better for us,… I guess. As long as we can make fun of Jack…

Before seeing the graphic I posted, would you have guessed that their records were almost identical? I wouldn’t have. Certainly not by reading this thread. I have no idea what this means. I don’t think any of our wins matter. Don’t get me wrong, i’m enjoying them, but they don’t mean anything. Our losses certainly don’t matter, either. I will say that I really like the hockey the Sabres are playing to finish up this season. I pray to god that it will be the same in October when games actually mean something again. I’m cautiously optimistic. Cute.

For all the schadenfreude and ass shining in this thread, I think we need a little perspective. We're the same team, only we aren't playing anyone who has anything to play for. And no matter where Vegas' pick ends up, it ain't helping us make the playoffs next year.

Huge gaps. 70s, knew they were a thing. That was about it. Listened to the Sabres on the radio mostly during the 80s while playing street hockey or shooting against the garage door. Didn't have a tv from around 1988 until 2001, but watched every playoff game of the Hasek era at a friends apartment or bar in NYC. Probably have missed only a handful of games since the 04-05 lockout, though.
