Last night, at the point, Dahlin tried to backhand pass to himself through the guy defending him. That guy just took the body. Someone else took the puck. It was as soft and stupid a play as I’ve seen in a while, and that is saying something. I absolutely do not think that picking high again is the way out. Guys at the top of the draft have always been better than everyone around them so they never had to work as hard.

Is Bryson hurt or just in the press box? I know some will disagree with me, but I would have rather seen Bryson last night than Gilbert. Yes I know Gilbert hits, but, that’s about it. He’s pretty bad at everything else and Toronto isn’t exactly a heavy team. I think Bryson’s speed would have served us better than Gilbert’s hitting.

I have never seen it. Didn’t even know it was a thing. But they changed the rules recently, where a coach can challenge a play for a penalty or something that would have stopped play (like a hand pass) and figured it was just part of that. I agree that they are snakebite.

Yep. You have to be so good that the refs can’t ***** you. They did tonight. Neither goalie interference had any bearing on whether the puck was going to go in or not. I thought that used to be a criteria in the decision. Apparently that is no longer the case.

I disagree. Winning cures everything in pro sports. And if a guy is hurt that his buddy was jettisoned, then he has to go too.
