  1. I absoutely cannot believe that Montador is a +9. He looks like a giveaway machine at times and the puck is always hopping over his stick. But, if he is on the ice when good things are happening for us, I guess they have to keep playing him. As a player, I still look at him as upgradeable either by somehow improving his play or by replacing him with someone else. I like the puck handling skills and transition game benefits of Leopold but he needs to use his size in his own end more and not get knocked off the puck so easily. Sekera is having a pretty decent start to the year. I'm not worried about Myers, I really believe he is just off to a slow start, hopefully Lindy hasn't over-coached him to play too much within a system instead of simply letting him play the game to his strengths with his natural instincts like last year. Probably just the normal sophmore slump. I would definitely keep Rivet out if I was coaching but would that force his loss of captaincy? I would simply trade him for a pick or waive him - we're talking about Sabres management here, so it shouldn't be that difficult for them to make a move like that. I think he is told slow too old, has hands of stone and is getting knocked around more and won't be as physicial with a bum shoulder. The only value he has is as a leader in the dressing room, but you have to make a difference on the ice. If you are a liability as a captain it's a problem.
  2. What a difference one night makes. It was the Devils minus Brodeur and Kovalchuk but they played with intensity and a sense of purpose tonight. It was nice to see Weber on the blue line. He looked pretty solid. Hopefully Vanek is starting to wake up. Good thing the next 3 games are on the road. This team needs to get some momentum before they skate at home again. Moral of the last 48 hrs: don't get too high, don't get to low. They will probably finish in 6th or 7th by the end of the year. Before tonight there was only 1 way to go and we started in that direction.
  3. I was there last night and the place seemed dead in the first period, but it also had to be the most frustrating hockey I have watched live in a while. Last year the team came out of gates smoking their play was dominating and the fans were making noise at the games I attended. This is a joke so far this year. It was so hard to actually feel entertained and if any of you would have been there, you would have felt deflated like I did. Instead of cheering Let's Go Buffalo, I was yelling Wake Up Buffalo. You can't play 20 minutes of hockey and start in the 3rd period and expect fans to be going crazy. Show some passion on the ice and the passion from the fans will follow. When you play like you are trying to get your coach fired - not showing up and not winning a single game at home in the first month of the season, the place will be dead. There is no take charge attitude on the ice, these guys can't seem to handle the puck at all, there is no cohesion or chemisty between any of these guys - the D is in shambles. There isn't really a single guy that you can depend on at this point. Among the worst are Rivet and Montador. It is just scary bad. I was watching Vanek closely last night and he shows very little hustle. Connolly has no determination, he is so soft. The new kids are playing like they are rookies and their size limitations are showing up. I hope something happens to get this team moving in the right direction (and I thought I saw the right kind of effort in Chicago and Atlanta) but 0 wins at home and the general inconsistency in the first month is reason for major concern (wonder when the last time was when they didn't win a single home game in a month). I have 5 more games to see and I am glad I didn't pony up major cash this year to see the product on the ice - it's terrible. Maybe it's time for a coaching change, maybe some player shakeup needs to happen, maybe the GM has to admit he hasn't been able to get the right players to Buffalo, maybe the management team has to give the hockey dep't more flexibility in their budget. It all looks broken right now.
  4. I am. Section 309. First time in the upper deck in years. New mortgage so need to save $. These tickets cost what 100 Level II tickets cost about 3 or 4 years ago.
  5. Hi SDS, Whenever I make a post, on the left side there is a message that shows up and says "Warn: 0%" with about 5 or 6 blue bars. Nobody else has this in their personal area. How do I get rid of this?
