I kind of like how they call the Buffalo PP inept. True they didn't score, but they moved the puck well and got some really good chances. While the Canes PP did score it was on an extended 5 on 3, and the Canes often looked lost on the PP. But, the Carolina press probably just looks at the scoresheet at the end of the night
Homers. Funny part about that was that Miller had more saves than Ward, and it's not even enough to warrant 3rd star.
It was the same in HD. You barely noticed.
I was disappointed with the first 5 minutes. Happy with Miller and happy with the special teams. PK was great. Despite not scoring on the PP I thought they had some quality chances.
Looked like the Staal goal deflected.
I would imagine that some of it had to do with the fact that 4 of our top 6 defensemen were out of the lineup tonight. Although since I had technical difficulties I only heard about the last minute of the game.
It was originally thought to be an abdominal muscle pull.
I set the WGR feed to record, and when I got home, it had stopped itself and I got nothing. I heard the last minute of the game.
Yeah, great goal, and looked it looked like he played really well. He looked very speedy on those breakaways. Of course, it was against the Leafs, but still, he looked speedy.
You forget one of the best quotes from that day. Hasek said something along the lines of "This year we get 14 wins, next year I promise 16 wins," and he started to walk away, and came then caught himself and said "Oh, in playoffs."
When is Staal going to get called for diving?
By the way, good for him he is good at hockey, because he is not going to win an academy award for that performance.
PA, I find that very encouraging!!!
EDIT: I am not being sarcastic. You are definately not as optimistic about this team as I am (well at least you weren't in the past), so if you think they can win, they can win!
They need to get a quick one tonight. Gerber has played pretty good, but he's not unbeatable. If they can get a quick one and get it through their heads that they can beat him, they will be in good shape.
You know what makes me mad? Not that they lost. Not that they gave up 4, not that they made mistakes in their own end. I am mad that after the 4th goal, they gave up. Who cares what the scoreboard says, put in 100% for a full 60 minutes. I hope the last few minutes doesn't carry over to Sunday.
Good point Dave. If the Canes find themselves down 2 goals, they might have to open up their game even more than usual. With the way the Sabres have been looking on odd man rushes, I can't see this as anything but an advantage for the Sabres.
