  1. Also "reporting" Stastny and Boyes to Toronto. Not much of a reach to say Ennis will get @ 3 mill.
  2. Revenue sharing basic premise is the old "you are only as good as your weakest link". Just 11 clubs were shown making an operating profit, according to the most recent valuations of the NHL. The “haves” fall into clear categories that make the challenges all the more daunting for the league. Disincentive for new owners: The bankruptcy of any NHL team is a bad signal to prospective owners. Let's remember that relocation fees to the league are very small in comparison to franchise expansion fees. While there are flaws in the system that should be addressed in the next CBA, it's in part to protect the future value of the larger teams like Toronto. Giving money to weaker markets to pursue larger viewing audiences is a good thing. The NFL's TV contracts are like $200 billion, the NHL's only about $400 million.
  3. Why shouldn't the Sabres get rewarded for meeting league mandates and having a revenue-growth rate that matches or exceeds that of the league average? I might argue the 2.5 million people part although I have no problem taking a few million dollars from the likes of NY, LA, Philly, Chicago and Boston.
  4. I think the loss of a pet may be worse than the loss of a good friend. They're someone you can confide in, they never talk back, and are always there for you. I truly hope there is a doggie heaven for you.
  5. Giving another thought to this. Is this the reason the OSP decided to in fact sell the team after saying no the first time around?
  6. They missed in 2011-2012 (based on 2010-11 numbers). I believe the qualified for revenue sharing next season, 2012-13, based on 11-12 numbers.
  7. This place http://citybration.c...il-contest.html is having a cocktail contest. Make a cocktail that exemplifies the waterfront. Personally I think someone should make a Pegulager. The name of the new cocktail must somehow reflect the Waterfront. Please use ingredients that are readily available at local liquor and grocery stores, and try to make it easy to mix by bartenders in our busy Buffalo pubs – we’d love to have it served in local watering holes long after the Floating Cocktail Party is over and the boats have docked.
  8. Um. Sabres missed revenue sharing last year.
  9. Might go to this one.
  10. It's probably taken too long and cost too much money but it IS awesome.
  11. Funny how the internets work. Like this twitter account quoting SabreSpace
  12. Dude. That's cool.
  13. This was fun...
  14. For the RUSH fans... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4wwFyRaoRo
  15. Taste of country concert tonight. It would suck if I was out in the rain but I'll be in Pettibones baby!
  16. It would mean we have close to $12 million in cap space now.
  17. Talk of 70.3 million for the salary cap next year. That would make the salary cap floor just over 54 million.
  18. I apologize to you and others. I am perceived as a "slacker" in "your community". I am type cast here by some, and I have come to accept that. There are still dozens of posters who understand my point of view on slacking. I think it's obvious not everyone holds your apparent disdain for someone that is a slacker. It's too bad some people over the years have been so hurt by the slacking that they are "driven crazy" and feel the need to ;) others. I fancy myself a leader with a bubbly, tingly hope that I can open Thursdays thread on time every week, 52 weeks a year. I can't speak for others, but I myself so much hate slacking that when I sense a projection of it, I try to make it better. Which is why even though you may not be too fond of me at this point, I apologize.
  19. People who complain the complaint thread isn't open then their only complaint is the complaint thread isn't open. :nana:
  20. Reportedly Hasek wants to get back in the NHL. According to Sport sources, Hasek spent recent days specifically in Buffalo and Detroit, the two places where he left his deepest impression overseas… http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&source=mog?sl=cs&tl=en&u=http%3A//isport.blesk.cz/clanek/hokej-nhl/123821/navrat-legendy-hasek-chce-zpatky-do-nhl-uz-jednal-v-americe.html I guess his number won't be retired anytime soon.
  21. It's a double edged sword. I have found closure but other people keep opening the book. It is good and bad at the same time.
  22. You guys are weird! Cooled seats in the car is where it's at.
