Thing is the NHL is always changing the playbook. They are trying to put Fehr on the defensive with the players, saying he doesn't want to deal. i.e. CBA contract length: first offer from NHL was five year length, PA 3 yrs. The next 5 yrs PA and the NHL went to 6. PA went to 6 and the NHL went to 8. In the last proposal the NHLPA said okay 8. Guess what? NHL went to 10. Bettman says it's all about the "whole" CBA not just one part. i.e. here's another $90 million dollars for "make whole" give us 10 years. The players are taking pressure from owners, BOG, coaches but are sticking up for each other from the high paid to low paid, I respect that. The deal was almost done and the players asked for Don to be in the room and the owners walked out. What does that say to you? PR firm bull if you ask me.
-
I understand how that works. So does the NHLPA. The NHLPA wants longer contracts so there are lower cap hits. Doing so allows the middle class to survive. Otherwise they see a bunch (3-4) high paid players and a bunch of million dollar players. So as it turns out the NHLPA had a counter proposal ready before Daly called S. Fehr and said the NHL offer was off the table and broke off talks.

Not sure what you mean here. Are you saying the NHL wants high paid players salaries to come down? And Tyler Myers hurts his ankle... has MRI http://www.kleinezei...iegen-kac.story

More than just Miller have said the same thing. A quote from a player was taken out of context, it happens. Especially when people are looking for juicy stories.
-
Ryan Miller: "At no time did Don Fehr ever advise the players to hold out for more. I heard that story and its wrong."

Dance? What exactly have the owners 'given up"? Giving up on giving the players 43%? Giving up on trying to not pay contractual obligations? Arbitration rights? Free agent parameters? From a player's perspective your statement is ridiculous.
-
No, actually the ownership said the players were cattle.

So someone with $40,000 worth of credit card debt should go out and spend more money. That'll work.

Cobra is retroactive 90 days. Meaning u can Not pay for coverage and if something happens that is more than the back premiums u pay you pay the premiums and are covered. It's a risk for 90 days but could pay off.
-
Taxes schmapkiz. Isn't it about time they just spent less money?

http://m.usatoday.com/article/news/1752485?preferredArticleViewMode=single Certainly this is not my opinion, but it makes sense. Fehr is not the devil but definitely won't let the players take less than what they could get. I could type out a good 200 words on what's going on but I'm not giving it my time. Either you play or u don't.
