Ok this changes things a bit. From Darcy talking with Kevin: @11:12 mark At the end of last season, those players that were on NHL contracts had to sign AHL contracts to play in Rochester. Brennan was one of them. Once the deal is ratified the NHL contracts are back in force and the AHL contracts are voided. What this means is that Brennan would have to go through waivers to be sent TO Rochester.

He's 60 years old. He'll be 68 when the CBA gets drafted again. Daly's mid 40's and would be logical takeover.

Hearing you can also retain up to 50% of a players cap hit in a trade. For example, you trade a 4 million player but retain up to $2 million to make the trade. A SPC could be traded this way twice. I expect to see a lot more player movement now. Also waivers will be 24 hour period. Including Sundays.
