Prediction time: what is TP going to do about JB?
Palm Trees And Taxes replied to nfreeman's topic in The Aud Club
To me the thought is very simple: The Sabres will sort of be working with a 'clean slate' going into 2020-2021: Big decisions to make on the roster with a lot of RFA's and UFA's. The 2020 NHL Entry Draft is VERY deep all the way to the 15th pick, oodles of talent coming in. IF the Sabres are lucky enough to get into the Top 3 that would be huge for the organization. Plus you have Jack Eichel, a true franchise player in every respect, and a soon to be franchise defenseman in Rasmus Dahlin, who eventually will be up for a contract. All TP, KP and the organization have to truly answer is this: With this off season being extremely crucial for how the Sabres will look for the foreseeable future, do you TRULY and i mean TRULY trust Jason Botterill to put his hands all over this team? When you analyze his drafts, the trades and the contracts that he has given out, can you trust him? Also, based on the on the ice performance and the fact this team was 9-2-1 and will be under .500 sooner then later, if the answer to this is YES, then there are MUCH bigger issues with the Sabres then just who the GM is. If they don't fire his arse, hire a President like Drury as an example, get an experienced and savvy GM, PSE will reap what they sow with a half empty arena for years, and we will all get to watch Eichel force his way out and cementing the Buffalo Sabres as THE laughing stock of the entire NHL. It's THAT important. WAKE UP TP -
All good I don't want to shortchange the 2000 title when the Yankees won 87 games and won the WS in 5 over the Mets

I absolutely love how other fans are desperate to get the Yankees front and center into the Astros cheating scandal. Yankees are certifiably not angels but let's keep the focus on the Astros* shall we? Nice to see we live rent free in so many fans brains despite the fact the Yankees have only 1 WS title since 2000.

This one could be ugly fast: 5-2 Jets -

Who is replacing Botterill? No, really ...

Whoops I forgot about that on the McCrimmon angle thank you -
I bet a good amount of this speculation comes from entitled hockey media folks from the big markets who are: A. Salty that their franchise didn't win the McDavid sweepsteaks B. Feel it is almost a right of passage that players MUST want to play for their beloved market. They mutter to themselves: How DARE a superstar player wants to stay in Edmonton or Buffalo?

Two names: Dean Lombardi: Built the Sharks well in the early days in the 90's and was hired by the Kings around 2006 and helped build LA into a 2 time SC Champion. Has a lot of experience and brings instant credibility to the organization Kelly McCrimmon: Assistant GM for the Vegas Golden Knights if you want someone who has had more recent success. -

At this point I wouldn't even mind seeing Darcy Regier re-hired. It IS that bad now folks -
Also cant underestimate that Jack is wearing the C, its like in Titanic, the captain goes down with the ship. Having that responsibility changes a players mindset too

We need a complete offensive overhaul

This is all assuming Jack keeps playing through the hand injury he currently has -
GDT: 2/28/20 Sabres @ Golden Knights 10pm ET, MSG and WGR550

The only thing that might help in terms of this is if the Sabres finish strong and have say 88 points if UFA's are considering the Sabres maybe they think about them more as they will appear to be closer to being a playoff team then if the Sabres tank terribly. -

Would have liked to see the Sabres take a chance on this player for the #2 Center role: Jack Rosolvic - Winnipeg Jets

The Sabres are also still paying Cody Hodgson too right?

GDT 2/26/20 Sabres at Colorado 8pm ET, NBCSN and WGR550
Palm Trees And Taxes replied to jsb's topic in The Aud Club
Agreed. Against a team like Colorado, we will need at least 4 to get a W -
Was at the game last night in Anaheim and I agree. Ennis IMO was one of the more underrated good moves of the trade deadline, fits the Oilers like a glove. Ennis had 2 points and was all over the place.

Every game is big now but especially after Toronto pulled off a 4-2 upset at Tampa and Florida got a W last night this game is even bigger now. That aside, every game IMO is important for this franchise regardless whether or not that they pull off a miracle and make the playoffs. To continue to improve, and change the culture of this franchise this year and for years to come. -
THIS is why Boston gets it, and this is the kind of move I would like to see the Sabres make, Ritchie has enough skill to stick and adds size and grit, just what the Sabres need

Ok the 50% retainment by NJ makes this deal more tolerable -
